HID Fog Lights?
Has anyone replaced their fog lights with HIDs? I like to run my fog lights at night but don't like how the headlights have the HIDs and give off the blueish tint while the fogs are the white/yellowish color? If so how much time and money was involved in the process? You guys think it would be worth it or should I just try to find some replacement bulbs that have a blue tint to them?

After that you will have access to the fog.
Here a picture of the rear of the fog light. Its just plug and play.
I went with 6000k HID cost $55

I just swapped the bulbs and ballasts in mine, however Fuzzylogic and another guy have a running thread on the cadi forums for a retrofit of Projectors which looks sick. Been meaning to go that route just can't figure out how to smoke the lenses on the lexan yet.

I did some googling and found that 4500k 55w and 6000k 35w would match stock pretty good. Any reason to not use 55w. I originally thought 35w due to it being a smaller housing, but would rather get more light output using the 55w if there is no concerns with it.
Separate note: Could I use some 35w HID for my DTRL in my Tahoe without any issues? Barley any smaller than the V fog housings.

stock i believe is 4800 so a 5 k would be ****. Unless you do both that is, IMO around 6K is the best color, above that it gets kind of ricey and draws attention from the cops. The car already gets enough attention from them...

With the advancement of LEDs in the last 3 years, think these would be a worthy choice?

I've had 4500K 55W DDM bulbs/ballasts in my aftermarket dual halo headlights for ~2 years and they suck. One has drastically changed color, and both have issues where they fail to turn on.
LEDs are great for running/accent lights, but all of my reading online indicates that they can't produce anywhere near the amount of light that you get out of a 55W HID setup.
I've read a lot of people bashing on DDM lately, and I'm 50/50, considering the 35Ws are still working great, but the 55Ws are basically dead.

55W HID Kit 4,5k in my dual Halos and they suck and failed after half year, bulb died, got a new one with Ballast, but didnīt installed yet, light output was crappy with tinted glasses, think it was the Combo with these cheap lenses in dual Halos and the tinted glasses!
Back to origin D1S and what amazing difference to before...
Next step is put the best of both worlds together, D1S with the inner parts from dual Halos and cob DLR rings as bright as can be putted together in tinted origin housing, hope this will work?!
Then using the HID Kit in fog lights, but unsure if it will work without a lens into them, maybe try a STS fog light from the newer models, they have clear turn Signal and fog light with lens!
Best regards,
Ronald
