i currently have a duralast with 700cca. Hasnt let me down so far. Only once i disconnected the battery for over a week, and it got discharged. I just finished charging it and it seems to still work just fine.

im using a interstate battery and its been great, plus its not even the "correct" battery for the car. The car calls for a sealed battery, like the kinda that can be placed in car but since its under hood the guys at interstate just sold me a regular battery that fit with same CA's and CCA's. It hasnt given me any problems and was less than half the price of those stupid 200$ GM batterys.

Interstate is one of the best batteries... I was told that Optima sold and is no longer the same quality... I believe Napa sells Orbital which is an Exide battery that would be my choice

You might as well get an Optima or other quality brand. I think you'll find that just about any battery spec'd for this car is approaching $200. At least that was my experience

Absolutely nothing, just an FYI for those who may be concerned about the quality. Johnson Controls is a major OEM source for Toyota and several other brands.
I have the 78N in my V, and other Wally World batteries in my truck and the Camaro.
Don't know if it's true or not but one of the Wally World folks said that the N version of their batteries is generally for the more northern climates hence the higher CCA.

Optima has taken a huge crap in the quality department and is lsoing its reputation quickly. I run Interstate batteries in both my V and my Mustang. If you can find an interstate I would go for that over wally mart batteries.
I had a wally mart battery in my SS for a month before it died, i took it back and it failed the battery test they run. No more wally world batteries for me.

Yeah, the "N" designation is for northern climates and therefore has more CCA's...Not sure if they are even available here in Socal, but may be if you looked around...
I ended up getting a Napa Group 78 for a decent price and has a good warranty (keep your receipt though wherever you buy it)...
There are two major players in the car battery business: Exide and Johnson Controls...Want to say there is a third one but can't think of the name (who makes AC junk batteries?)...So, any battery you buy will more than likely be made by one of those. One thing I noticed is most are made in Mexico now and some (lile AC junk) are made in China...One thing that sucks is the AC battery I had still had a lot of warranty left, but since it was replaced under warranty and not bought, they would not pro-rate it, wtf?!?
