Default V seems lighter all the time

GM announced specs on the new Camaro ZL1. It will weigh a ridiculous 4,120 lbs...

While the V may seem a bit on the heavy side @ 3,850 lbs when you compare to a Corvette or something, it's pretty light when you think about cars that are heavier.

+1. Can't believe they didn't drop more weight on the ZL1.

with a solid rear end setup.. sky is the limit for this platform...

im thinking of eventually going with a harness setup and some sparco buckets to drop 100+ lbs and get rid of the Trailblazer seats

My 2004 V at 3778# (after LG coilovers) but still nose heavy @ 55%/45%
frt: 2070 rear: 1708
I have stock LS6 motor no headers.

What can I do to take off weight from the front?
seats?

New battery? Also, headers will buy you at least 20 lbs, but they're ridiculously expensive from a $/lb perspective.

wow that is heavy!!! No wonder they were saying the damn thing will q mile in almost mid 12s. Disgusting for almost a 600hp car. im assuming its the same damn thing as the v a 6.2 supercharged basically an ls3 w a maggie. Still I think best car with most potential is the ls7 z06 period. It will make the zr1 cry when you supercharge it.

it also laps the ring at 7:40 range which makes even the new V look slow, let alone our suv seated vehicle.

Do not relocate the battery to save weight. You'll gain it back in the weight of the heavy gauge wire, nevermind the PITA factor. I PC925 weighs 10 lbs less than the OEM battery. I recently placed an order for a 30a/h battery that weighs 21 lbs, on backorder, will see how it does when I receive it. I intend to keep it on a battery tender. The Vs have multiple computers in them that demand a fair amount of battery capacity.

Headers and a lighter battery in the stock location are your best bet for reducing front end weight. The CF V1 shock tower brace weighs about 6lbs less than the OEM LS2 brace, btw. May be less savings with an LS6 brace.
