Trouble getting it into gear when stopped
I almost hate driving my car because of this problem. Every stoplight it's a PITA getting it into first gear. Sometimes I have to find another gear and 'bump' the car so it rocks forward a little, and then jump over to first. Other times none of the other gears are open either, and I have to just slam it into first.
I know the clutch is disengaging the flywheel, because if I clutch it, put it in first and rev the motor really high, I don't get any forward motion.
I really don't want to pull the tranny, but I think it may be time...

I've got the same thing.
I tend to just slip it into first as the car is still rolling just to make sure before I stop at a light or whatnot.
So far that works a-ok.

My car does this some also. Either I pull it into second then first, or I push on the shifter towards first and slowly let the clutch up. It pops right in doing this and the is no jerk or perceptible movement. By now it's a natural thing for me.

After changing my transmission fluid 2 weeks ago its alot easier for me to put it into 1st now. But reverse sometimes wont go into gear...I'll either put it in first and then reverse or if Im lazy I'll just try to put it in reverse and slow let the clutch out and it will pop into reverse.

I had the same problem and its the slave not pressing. I put a bigger bore master cylinder and put a 1/8 shim behind the slave and it works like a charm. I would order a tick MC or shim the slave. If you have problems with first or reverse this is the problem. Cheap fix = shim. Better fix but pricey - tick performance MC. Good luck.

I had the same problem going into reverse, had to do the 1st to reverse nearly every time. I was told that this was "normal". Mine completely went away when I installed the B&M and bushings.

Wow i never new this was such a big problem mine also did this but i always figured it was the first gear syncro. 80% of the time to get into reverse i had to hold shifter in reverse and let out on clutch and first was always gay. I always had to let the car come to a complete stop then either ease it in or put into third then 1st because it was so hard to go into gear. Changing out the fluid really does help though. The fluid just cant take all that heat over time and eventually destroys the slave cylinder. 3 months after changing my fluid it was dirty again good thing i had the mighty Vac

If you are using the stock trans mount would look into shimming it as mentioned or installing the cs trans mount. This will raise up the trans and its clunky remote linkage to a angle that works with less effort. Try shifting with the car off and clutch engaged if you can't put it in all 6 gears easily then something isn't right.

First thing to try is changing fluid in the clutch master cylinder. My guess is your trans is fine. Mine was doing same thing. Plenty on other site about crappy master an slave cylinder seal degrading and contaminating clutch fluid. I used the turker baster method and over the course of a month got the fluid back to clear and tranny shifts much better...
