Cool Rear Tire Size Question

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about running a wider tire in the rear of my V...I had read on here a while ago that some are running a 275/40R18 in the rear with no problems/rubbing on a stock rim,....problem is, up here in NY the weather gets really shitty, and i'm having a hard time finding an all season tire in that size,... I currently have ContiProContacts on it,...they make a 275/45R10 all season to match my fronts,.....

do you think id have a problem with these at all?

thank you guys in advance

Neil

275/45/18 would really make the speedometer read lower than actual speed. I would look for 275/35, 265/40 or even 285/35 if 275/40 wasn't an option. Hopefully somebody will chime in if the 285/35 fits with the stock trailing arm and if a spacer is needed or not. For a good compromise square setup look at 255/40/18.

For use in the snow, you're better off with stock sizes, or even a bit narrower. Increases the pressure on the tire for better traction in the snow.
