Default Tire Review / Inputs Goodyear F1 GS D3

I need some help. Does anyone have these?

275/40R18 99Y Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

I can get 2 new ones for $330 shipped.

I read reviews online but wanna hear from fellow V owners.

Other suggestions in that price range would be nice too!!!

Thanks!!!

I have stock sized GSD3s, by far the best tire I have ever had. Awesome in the rain and have zero traction issues on motor even in first and doesnt spin much from a 2nd gear roll on the bottle.

They are discontinued and if i had the money id buy another set to put away.

The GS-D3 is basically replaced by the F1 Asymmetric. You can get them in stock sizes for about the same price as your $330/2 price. A little more money, but not a lot.

That said, the GS-D3 is an incredible rain tire. Dry traction is definitely good, but I think newer tires have raised the bar. And Goodyear would rate it as lower in dry traction than the OEM Supercar tires on the V. Though a 275 would probably help with launches vs 245's.

My 275's help a little, but I still get a little hop tearing into second. Whoever thought 245s were a good idea on a 400hp car is a moron.

I hated my GS-D3's...they gave me a set after the supercars wore out at 8k miles...the GS-D3's lasted a whopping 15k.

I've since switched to bfg kdw2's and am very happy.

goodyear's are only good for a year! the traction is great but they dont last long at all. if you have an aggressive alignment for get about tire life..they wont last 6 months.

my toyo t1r's have been great for over a year and still look new with 500 whp and plenty of spirted driving

I have a set of Firestone's from the Auto Care Center (Dyess) with road hazard warranty, mounted, and balanced for just a hair of $800. Overall they are a pretty good tire for the money. Dry traction is pretty good and I have had Zero issue with them. Although I can still break them lose if I try. I have not done much drving in the rain with them, since it has not rained much this year and I have a Daily Beater. But the times I did, I have no issues with them in the wet. They were a HUGE inprovement over the Goodyear RS-A that were on there from the first owner. They are very quiet and well mannered when I am just puttering around, and provide a fun ride when I take her down through some of the hill rounds that are around Abilene.

GSD3 I have heard are a good tire as far a traction goes. But, like some above have stated, the tire life has been up and down. Some get good life and others get shitty life. I am at 11,5xx on the set, and my fronts are at 7-8/10 and the rears are 6-7/10.

Tires are Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Wide Oval, 245/45R18 Fronts and 275/40R18 Rears.

You guys are dumb to complain about tire life on a 400hp car when you put performance tires on it. If you really think there is a perfect tire that provides excellent wet and try traction, great handling and 100k mile lifespan your out of your minds. You have to sacrifice somewhere it's all about what you wanna give up. Spinning ain't winning.

Best tires I ever put on my Camaro. I swear they gripped as well as the Nitto DR's I had before them, and the rain just didn't matter, they still gripped hard. I wish they weren't discontinued.

as i said, goodyears lasted all of that..maybe a year. these toyos have been on for over a year and still have 70 % in the rears. and they grip just as good if not better than the f1's. calling people dumb for voicing their opinion shows ur ignorance

I guess he is voicing his opinion too. LOL

I had Toyo T1R's and loved them but not the pricetag. I had the t1R's for a while too when I bough tthe car but they put 275/35's on it which was throwing my speedo and traction control off.

Keep the suggestions coming. FYI Im on stock height and alignment.

i have 255/40/20 in the front and 275/35/20 in the rear.. it does throw the traction control on early but not if driving normally. i got in the habit of always driving the car in either comp mode or just turning it all off. the car seems to run better with everything turned off.
