Default GTO/Holden/Monaro/Commodore shift ****/boot, anyone know where to find one?

Hey guys,

Does anyone know where I can find this GTO/Holden/Monaro/Commodore shift ****/boot?

http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...to-holden.html

I tried the email address in the above link, but got no reply. The url is dead as well.

That link is almost 2 years old. Anybody know where to still find one?

Thanks!

Check the Australia ebay site, I know a couple people have found them there.

You should check with Chris Miller over at Motorfield Wholsale. They've got the Holden Shift **** presently listed on their Web site for $88 AU, which translates into about $90 US.

As I recall, shipping is nearly $50 to the US, so figure approx. $150 to your door. There's a little more info available over at that other site.

Good luck.

That name Chris Miller rings a bell, I think he was the guy selling them via those old dead links. I didn't get mine from Australia but here's a couple pics.. Still love it. The boot is real leather, not that ball-sack pleather on the stocker..

Sits a little lower now, I hacked more off the stalk

I love how the stitching matches.

I will add that there seems to be a variation of stitching on these *****, or at least it seems that way based on pictures I've seen. Mine was for a gto and came from a pontiac dealer in the us (i actually got it from another forum member). Anyway, my stitching almost blended with the boot completely, which blended nicely with the stock pattern.

I've seen pics of the australian edition, and the stitching seemed to be white, like a very white color that was brighter than the stock stitching. This could have been a coincidence or perhaps there are different styles, but if mine were bright white and didn't match my interior, my ocd would have kicked in and I could not have installed it because it wouldn't look factory. As it stands, it looks more like factory than the original because the silver, leather, and stitching matches perfectly.

Then again, in person, the stitching on my ****/boot is actually a wee bit duller than the seats/wheel (see 1st pic), but the pics show it to be a match in most light. The aussie version may not be as much of a mismatch as I perceive because the light in the pics I've seen could have been off. In any case I'd rather err on the side of dull/unnoticeable than stand out..

This **** is heavier than stock so that's a plus, but ergonomically I won't say it's superior. I really liked the feel of the stocker in hand but I never had it with my short shifter so it always seemed very tall. I got to drive another V once, and it was cool to feel the original again except for it shifting like a truck!... If it were weighted I'd consider going back but since I've cut the stalk and stiffened up the whole assembly, I have to have a heavier ****..

Default Sweet!

If you don't mind, can you post a link? Or let me know what search terms you used to find it?

Thanks.

Here are two that I just came across. Just search "Holden Shifter". There seem to be two models that might work.
This one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-V...#ht_500wt_1413
that we know will work, and also this one which looks very similar
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/new-ve-v8...#ht_500wt_1413.

Just make sure to ask the seller if they will ship to the US before you bid. Everyone that I asked said yes, and the shipping was about 30 bucks.

Here is the auction that I won
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/320829842...#ht_706wt_1396

Good Luck!

Might be good to ask the seller if he could do a GB and send them to one member.
