Default Interior Question

A friend of mine sat in my car today and put all his weight on the center arm rest and there was a loud snap noise. The arm rest is now loose and makes all kind of noise. Is it possible to just replace the arm rest and not the entire console? If so, any idea as to where I can find it other than through GM?

Based on stuff I'm seeing on eBay, there is a difference between the CTS-V and CTS correct?

Yes, the CTS-V arm rest is lower so it doesn't interfere with shifting.

The regular CTS's have a compartment/console for the arm rest

I love my console!! It doesn't get in my way when shifting.

I only changed it because I wanted more "storage". It helps a lot!!

Nothing was wrong with it but I think they over tightened the bolt on one side and when I was removing the bolt it stripped a little.

Its in perfect condition otherwise. Want it? You can probably swap parts out with yours and mine. LOL $35 shipped?

I am sure the fact that you have an aftermarket shifter (shorter throw) helps. I drove a CTS-V with the CTS arm rest and stock shifter and it got in the way big time. I guess it also depends on how long your arms are too.

This is the skinnier one with no storage? If so, can you take some pics of it and it looks good I will take it.

How do you gain access to the bolts to remove the lid?
