Mehh not a huge fan of the front, but the rest of the car looks pretty solid.

I like the exterior a lot. Depending on how ATS performs, I'm looking out for the V variant. Turbo 3.6, 6-speed manual and AWD for around or under $50k sounds excellent.

The front looks euro-pedestrian-impact-standard, but other than the tall grill it looks good. Hopefully it's light. The rear door is pretty small. It looks to have HUD, which is cool.

I was hoping 3300 at least for the base turbo-4 cyl. I forget the curb weight on BMW 3-series, but I remember it being a little less that 3400 lbs.

The E90/92 series BMWs M3s are a tad over 3700 lbs.

Probably a bit over 3,400 for an aluminum 6.2L, 470 hp LS motor?

Can't wait to see upper and lower mesh grills on one.

I think it looks great, the lines are more refined and the new CUE system looks good. It would be nice if the speedo/tach guages look like they weren't from late 80's with an a center LCD out of nowhere.

under 3400lbs is a serious nice low weight for a modern 4 door vehicle. I dont know any luxury 4 door vehicles that weight that little.

BMW 328i 3362 (3428) lbs man/auto

Thats pretty spot on for taking the fight to the class leader.

Not really a fan of the headlights running up on the fenders like that but other than that it looks good. I like the exhaust exits being closer together on the bumper.

All the GM releases say it will be "under 3,400" as the base weight. There's also one that mentions the ATS V6 has a power/weight ratio of 10.8, and an estimated 320 horsepower. This would suggest a 3,456 lbs weight for the V6 ATS. Which personally I think is pretty good.

If they make a V version, and the V version is within 200 lbs of the base car, that would be a 3,550-3,600 lbs ATS-V. If it has more than 400hp, I think it will be an absolute winner.

So if they do a "V" version... would you prefer supercharged like the current or a twin or single turbo setup... I think the ATS may have an AWD option, which to me coming from a boosted AWD owner(Subaru STi) it will be pretty sick!!

I'd prefer an NA motor and RWD.

I wonder if the loss of the Performance Division matters in terms of an ATS-V being developed at all. All previous 'V's were done by them. Though GM is doing the ZL1 presumably without that group existing, so maybe it doesn't matter.

The people are still there, just the group isnt there. The ZL1 is a sign they can build a better vehicle without only people from that group.

Id like to see an AWD direct injection TT V6. After seeing how well the TT BMWs can do with minor mods and also how successful the Ford ECOBOOST line is I think its something GM needs to do.

Even Ford Flex's running mid to low 13's at the 2:22 mark of the video...Eco Boost motor wakes up big time with minimal mods.

I don't mean any offense to any Ecoboost fans, but if Cadillac comes out with an ATS-V for ~2014, and with mods it only runs mid/low 13's, I would not be impressed.

Sure that's fast compared to the gen 1 V, but it isn't generally thought of as a fast 1/4 mile car. Maybe in 2004, but we're talking 10 years later. And the SHO is likely slower than the 1/4 numbers suggest, since it has AWD. Vs the V which is more a 2nd half car. Looking at some other videos, the "worlds fastest" SHO is only turning in ~110mph trap speeds. Not to knock it, but that isn't my definition of "fast".

If they make an ATS-V, I would expect it to be close to the current CTS-V in acceleration. At likely 500lbs less, an ATS-V would need about 480hp to match the power/weight ratio.
