Default auto or stick???

I had an 04 Mallett V for a little while and gave it up in a divorce. I have been thinking about trying to get a V2. I love the stick cars but I drove an auto 2010 and was really impressed. I have another stick car so I wont go through withdrawals or anything. Just wondering how they compare.
Thanks

Personally, I'd just kill my ex wife and take the Mallett V back.

If your current girl doesnt know how to drive stick then get a stick. LOL

Sticks are fun but auto's in traffic = winning

But I myself would get a stick

Gas Guzzler (GG) tax of $1300, or half that of the A6
Faster by 16 MPH (191 MPH versus 175 MPH (governed))
A tad slower in the 1/4 & on the street
A tad better mileage than the auto but probably not significant

About 27 more RWTQ than an A6 on average as measured on a Dynojet
About 95 lbs lighter that the auto
No remote start feature
Has “no lift-shift” feature

Automatic trans (A6): Hydra-matic 6L90E 6 speed
electronically controlled automatic overdrive with
torque converter clutch (MYD): Gear ratios: (1 1st:

final: 3.23, reverse: 3.06

Gas Guzzler (GG) tax of $2600, or twice that of the M6
Slower by 16 MPH (175 MPH (governed) versus 191 MPH)
A tad quicker in the 1/4 & on the street
A tad worse mileage than the manual but probably not significant
About 32 less RWHP than an M6 on average as measured on a Dynojet
About 27 less RWTQ that an M6 on average as measured on a Dynojet
About 95 lbs heavier that the manual
Remote start feature
Normal mode initially starts in 1st gear, then starts in 2nd gear thereafter
Manual mode starts in 1st gear always

Interesting numbers on the M vs A V2's didnt realize that there was that much of a difference in the HP and TQ between the two.

I drove both an auto and stick 09 both 4 doors, identical other than the trans.....The first was an A6 and honestly I was SUPER disappointed.......It was much more of a ride than my 04, but no where near 40g's more....THEN I drove the M6 and it was a BEAST! I'm not denying the power they both make but the M6 had so much more of a driver's feel there's no way I could go with the auto. Just my .02

RADEoN, that was too funny. I'm sure there are many of us who have went through a divorce that feel that way. It was worth it to get rid of her and have what I have now

Thanks everyone for all your input. Thanks Gary for all facts. Much of that was new to me. A lot of good stuff. I'm leaning toward getting the stick if I can talk my girl into it. BTW.... she can drive one very well

Heavymetals.....
Is the Mallett car your talking about in Virginia? If so, I talked to the owner about it. Seems to be a very nice car. I had planned on driving up to look at it until we drove a new one.

If I ever got an 09+ it would hands down be an auto. They OWN stick cars at the track. V2 is far too luxurious to me to have to bang gears in it. This is just my opinion.

Many thanks for the props. FWIW, I have about 8 different charts, most deal with factory stock RWHP & RWTQ #'s on various dynoes. Dynoes do dyno different.

Cad ’09 & up CTS-V miscellaneous data:
1) Cad bone stock RWHP & RWTQ (A6 (37) + M6 (21)) (all dynos):
2) Cad bone stock RWHP & RWTQ (A6 (30) + M6 (13)) (dynojet only):
3) Cad bone stock RAHP & RATQ (A6 (3) + M6 (2)) (Dynapack only):
4) Cad bone stock RWHP & RWTQ (A6 only (30)) (dynojet only)
5) Cad bone stock RWHP & RWTQ (M6 only (12)) (Dynojet only):
6) Cad bone stock RWHP & RWTQ (A6 only (36)) (all dynos):
7) Cad bone stock RWHP & RWTQ (M6 only (21)) (all dynos):
8) Cad bone stock ’09 & up RWHP & RWTQ averages:

Cad CTS-V automatic versus manual transmission data
Cad CTS-V bone stock ¼ mile elapsed times

this is such a circumstancial question. I think you should ask yourself the following questions to help:

How much % of time do you spend in traffic?
Do you enjoy road racing or drag racing(auto for drag, stick for driving)?
How much % of time driving do you actually spend per day aggressively driving?
Do you have lots of distractions (i.e. babies, kids etc) that would cause driving a stick to be a pain?

for me, this would be a no brainer, since I spend virtually zero time in traffic, and 70% of my time driving highway...and I enjoy the twisties but despise drag racing, and I have zero children.
