Default usa spec?

Installed a usa spec ipod adapter but how do I get it to direct mode so I can control songs from my Iphone?
Instructions suck ***. I have almost no Idea how to select playlists from the head unit. I would rather use my Iphone for controls, but have no clue how.

Press the right bottom button on the nav unit, it will then switch to direct mode.

I'll try all the above, thanks. I've been finding the instructions rather confusing, and nothing really to say how to get to direct mode

You need to specify which unit you have. If it's the PA15-VETTE (the best one), all you have to do is hit F5 (fifth button from the top on the right hand side of the screen).

From the manual... Basically disconnect the ipod then press and hold seek, then press and hold the button you want the function assigned to.

The formatting screwed up when I copied it...heres the manual, instuctions on page 9

http://usaspec.com/userfiles/editor/...520_webuse.pdf

Step 1- Complete PA15-GM wire connection steps described in Section 4 of this manual.
this manual.
Step 2- Disconnect iPod from PA15-GM!!!!
Step 3- Press XM button to find XM1 on radio.

Step 5- Long press SEEK button until the letter PLAYLIST is shown on the text line
Step 8- Touch-and-hold anyone of the not-yet-programmed preset buttons until
Step 7- Short press the SEEK button and next function will appear on the text line
Step 6- Touch-and-hold anyone of the 6 preset buttons until letter PLAYLIST
where CH (channel number) is displayed. Note: before the SEEK button
appears on the preset button.
the name of the function appears on the preset button.
is long pressed, letter “ iPod ” is shown on this text line.
If your radio’s touch screen is the same as in the Example B above,
go to Step 11 of this section first.
where CH is displayed. Note: PA15-GM may provide more than 6 function and
you can use only 6 of it due to radio has 6 preset button only.

Whenever you set a preset, the current EQ setting is associated with that preset.
