Default Jacksonville AutoX

Is anyone planning on going? I will be there, Its this saturday the 19th. Heres a link for the online registration. http://buccaneerregion.org/soloevents.html

Does anyone shift at autocrosses? I havent at the other two ive been to, but I cant help but think I can be faster coming out of the slow turns in 1st.

I dont know about this course, Only ones Ive been to where in VA. But the map Ive seen of this course, looks like it will be one of the faster ones, but it did look like one of the turns will be tight. I will try to get a pic of the map I saw on here, in a min.

I find with the torque of our cars that downshifting is really not needed, if anything it makes the car a lot harder to handle getting out of the turn, plus you have an extra two shifts which are just chances to screw up. Give is a try though, it may work better for you than me.

The fastest you go is really ~60, i have hit the fuel cutoff in 2nd at one autox, but you hit that for one second then back on the brakes.
