Default Cam and balancer tool rental.

I bought my V earlier this year and immediately started collecting some of the specialty tools needed to work on the LS motors. I ended up with some used stuff and bought the remaining as new. I don't think i will get to the cam swap for a while so I am looking to offer these tools to the community on a rental basis to save others money while providing the correct tool for the job. The whole kit includes:
Lifter holding dowels
valve spring tool
Valve seal driver
Air chuck to hold valves up
LS specific damper puller and installer
Flywheel lock

How much do you guys think is a reasonable price for a week of rental and deposit ?
My next problem is finding a box that will fit the dowels but be small enough to save in shipping.

Just make sure you get the full purchase price as deposit. On the "other" forum, I let a guy borrow some tools. A Crane spring compressor and hose as well as a pulley puller and never got any of it back. Freakin dirt bag. Jonathan Stuckey is his name just in case anybody knows this guy, go get my **** back.

Ok rant over. Just a heads up, even fellow V guys can be crooked.

I may be interested in 30 days, depending on what your deposit is. just waiting for the heads to get back and the H/C goes in

That's a handsome looking puller, looks barely used

Great idea to rent it out. My advice would be, like the others, to make sure you get a deposit equal to the replacement cost, and remember that the time you put into assembling the kit is also a cost.

There is a guy on the forum that makes them. He is in the classifieds.

Yep, one good looking puller.

I'll have to add it all up but i'm thinking about $300 for a deposit.

I'm thinking $50 for use depending on if the whole kit is needed. Just need to figure shipping.

A week is good if you don't include shipping times in that week. Maybe 2 weeks total with shipping time included in that?

I say a little more time since ordering pushrods usually take a few days to get back after you order them so a week might be pushing it.

$50 plus shipping sounds reasonable though.

I have a really good FedEx acct. I may ship next day and include a return label. Figure another $20 that would bring the total to $70 which seems reasonable for what it includes and the quality of the tools.

That sounds like a good deal, definitely include the return label to eliminate excuses/issues for both sides. When I got the cash ill hit you up.

Get a crank bolt and cut down the diameter of the head so it will fit through the center of the pulley. This way you won't have to keep removing the puller to adjust the bolt when pushing against it.

This should be very helpful for those doing cam swaps. If this turns out into a useful thing I can sticky the thread if people want.
