Default Headlight ?'s!!!!

I have a 05 CTS-V and somehow the drivers side headlight decided to crack the lens. It's just a small crack at the bottom center of the headlight about an inch long. I noticed it starting to get moisture on the inside of the headlight and now the low beam/hid bulb went out. Before I start trying to find out if it's the ballast or the bulb my question is this..

Has anyone put a set of aftermarket hids in the stock housings? I could buy 2 or 3 sets of aftermarket hid kits for the price of just a replacement bulb/ballast. Also if that's not a possibility has anyone changed out factory bulbs/ballast and noticed a different color from the replacement bulb/ballast vs the stock older bulb/ballast??

That's who I bought all my other hids from for all my previous cars and trucks, I just wasn’t sure our bulb size was available aftermarket.

I recommend you replace both bulbs so they are the same brightness

ddmtuning is the way to go IMHO, I've had great luck with them. Also you can find stock replacements on e-bay for rather cheap if you search for a D1S bulb, the ballasts are a little tricky though. Sold mine for $50 each on e-bay a few months ago.

I wired in a ballast from a 2010 camaro to replace a blown ballast on my wife's v. You can grab these cheap for like $50 on ebay. They are the round ones with 3 bolt holes in the back.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm going to try and attempt to seal the headlight before I buy anything.

DDM tuning hid kits are from my experience the best, bought two different kits before hearing about DDM kits and kept having ballast issues. Not one issue from them and they are cheaper than the other kits I bought at first.

Should have done my research with them first, I just assumed the there wasn't a kit for the car since it has the factory hids. Really which our kit was cheaper like all there other kits, but I guess it's the perks of owning a Cadillac!!

Anyone have a link for the double halo aftermarket headlights? I can save $100 and buy a regular hid kit from DDM for $35 vs the d1s bulb kit. Unless someone has a spare drivers side headlight.

I need to seal the crack on the headlight to prevent moisture from ruining my new lights and the only way I can think to do it is with some clear silicone, but that would most likely look crappy..

Just jump on ebay. But there is a guy that makes replacement for like $2xx that has a video on youtube on how to replace a headlight in a cts.
