Default 04-05 vs 06-07 magnaflow exhaust?

Hey guys, I was wondering what the difference between the 04-05 and 06-07 magnaflow exhaust was? I seen there was two different part numbers for the years. A local guy has Magnaflow exhaust off an 05 V for sale and was curious if it would fit my 06 V?

So it's not a Magnaflow. I finally got pictures. No x-pipe or resonator... is it worth $450?

No, not worth it! Why replace good 2.5 inch mandrel bent stainless steel stock pipe with just a different set of 2.5 inch mystery pipe. The stock pipe even includes an X-pipe (but it's resonated). Just do a muffler swap!

Buy my 2 month old stainless steel straight-thru Jones Maxflow mufflers (magnaflow clones, but better-flowing) for $200 plus shipping. I had them installed in January, but now want to go muffler delete. They come complete with hangers, tips and everything, ready to bolt up. Here's the listing:

Here's what it sounds like. The iphone camera's not picking up the deep bass sound very well. Turn up your bass, lol. The mufflers plus OEM pipes and OEM resonated x-pipe give it a low rumble. Sound is civilized, yet threatening.

Yeah, $450 is NOT worth it. FYI - you can have a brand new Magnaflow exhaust for around $550 if you shop around and find the right internet deal. I would go with the mufflers with the OE X-pipe (resonator)...too much drone at 1700 RPM for my taste.

I have the magnaflow on my V and I love it. I dont have the drone others talk about and mine has been installed for 6+ months. I would do it again in a heart beat.

don't do it, you're losing performance without an x-pipe. Love my magnaflow as well. Drones a little in 6th gear when there is a load on the engine but it's not bad and only around 55-60mph. Overall it sounds fantastic people stop and stare and come up asking about it often.

Is $550 what some of the vendors on ebay will take if you make an offer? Everywhere I see a magnaflow catback is $970 on up. I'd really like to do full exhaust, headers and all at some point so I don't think I'd be satisfied with axlebacks. This is not my only DD, I'll live with the drone.

Honestly, if you're going to replace 2.5" with 2.5", then it's just a sound mod. You'll make the biggest gains with headers, high-flow cats and 3 inch pipe, in that order.

I am running 1 7/8 headers to high-flow cats to stock pipe with the straight-through muflers mentioned above. If I were to replace the cat-back with a full Magnaflow system, I would gain zero performance.

There's A LOT of markup in Magnaflow exhaust. Do enough searches and offer the lowball price and see who bites. That seemed to be the game a few years ago, I got mine for $550-$650...somewhere in that neighborhood. It's usually the no-name sketchy internet vendors that have the best pricing.

Hey...no risk, no reward...right?

I'd rather not have to deal with installing new mufflers. I'm horrid at welding and the exhaust shops around here are super pricey, mostly because there is NO competition unless I drive about 70 miles. So I'd prefer to just buy a catback that I can install myself. The cheapest I have been able to find through ebay offers was $720 from performancepeddler_west. I may just bite the bullet and get it, I can't find it as cheap as others lol

If you can weld and cut a little, get e-cutouts. You can go perfect stealth or wide open or anywhere in between. That's the route I wish I'd gone.

I bought my Magnaflow on ebay about a year ago. They were asking over $900. I offered and it was accepted at $610 shipped. I probably could have gotten it a bit cheaper (I had seen some people got it under $600 six months before that) but figured it was an ok price.

My suggestion is to give them a low offer (probably in the $550 - $600 range) and the worst that can happen is they say no. If you want me to, I can look back in my records and post who I bought from.

I've sent all the sellers under search Magnaflow 16637 offers for $500-$600 and they all came back with counter offers most in the $900 range still. Only reasonable I got back was $720. If you could find the vendor that you bought from that would be great. I'd buy in a heartbeat if I found a catback for $610 shipped.

I ordered from ebay seller gemstatehp (but the receipt says purchased from autopartsnow)
I actually paid $625 shipped a bit over a year ago (Jan. 2012).

Lol why go magma flow when you can get a b&b exhaust instead and it's 3"
