I know old Thread, but new question.

So I picked up 2006 and I went to put the CAGS on and it is a different connector. So I did not add it. The solenoid had a rubber end with the connector on the end of approx a 4 inch wire.

Also I unplugged it drove around and no check engine light came on.

has anyone else experienced this?

THe check engine light did pop and It turns out the correct connector is 1/3 the price of the old ones from the F bodies. I am new to the caddy so still doing a lot of reading.

Got the new hurst shifter put in today though.

On a side note is it just me or has all the Internet Brands forums gone to **** with this pop up ad that rips you from the page you were on. Money Grubbin, down gradin.

It's not just you.

a 2.2K ohm 0.5 watt resistor will emulate what the computer is looking for. Just jam it in there, wrap up in tape and zip tie it out of the way.

I have yet to experience CAGS. My car is stock (to my knowledge).

First mod I did when I bought the car...Car had 108k miles and still had it. Ordered the piece off eBay. Was like $12 shipped and a simple plug in. No CEL or anything. Although I might tune it out next week and take the resistor off if anyone needs one.

I bought my car used with the CAGS eliminator already installed by previous owner. It would be the absolute first thing I would install if my car didn't already have it. The 1-4 skip is absolutely annoying and probably isn't helping the differential bushings at all. I also had my tuner eliminate it in the tune.

If you haven't experienced it it's not stock.

i built my own using GM weatherpack connectors so it plugs inline and seals both ends. I tuned it out later if anyone wants it let me know.

So as I stated to clean my grounds up I noticed that the cags and my reverse lockout spontaneously started working intermittently.

Continued to do so until I fixed the wire at the passenger side that runs straight from the battery to the head.

Then they both started working full time again.

Maybe that will help some of the people with reverse lockout issues.

I just happily had mine tuned out.

I dunno, depends on how long BigIron had been driving the car when he posted that. I very, very rarely triggered it on mine (a handful of times over the course of a couple/few years) before it was eventually disabled when I got the car tuned.

I was commuting with it when it was still active. It's the worst during winter when you are really trying to be light on the pedal. But you're right, if it's your fun car you might never be bothered by it.

How many of you have disabled CAGS in HPTuners, removed the CAGS module, and replaced it with an aluminum plug?

How many of you still have the 1-4 shifter lockout ?-xgoxwkl.jpg

I never got under there to look yet but my car reads on the dash sometimes 1 to 4, but It don't lock me out of second or third, and I don't have a check engine light so I'm assuming I have the cags in there??
