Default This is a cool video of what goes on to your serp belt.

Watching the belt stretch then contract is awesome enough, but when this thing hits the two step....that poor tensioner is beat on! Makes you want to buy the expensive serp belts and tensioners, especially if you run a supercharger!

At least the least was mentioned

That was sick though I thought I had a weak tensioner on my old ls because it moved a bit when I revved it

Really? Not in the slightest? They way that tensioner bounces, and to watch (at least) a 10 rib belt stretch that much?

Im sure that car was running a TON of boost though, so that belt and tensioner is under a lot of strain.

I work in cars and seen bad tensioner act similar. So with the two step bouncing it acted as I thought. Also the stretch is kinda like centrifugal force. Had a belt jumping problem on my car especially if I hit limiter, sometimes it was only held on by one rip lol but still on. Also wy the 03/04 cobra guys and gt 500 cars they put aftermarket tensioner right by the blower they just want to slip or fly off. Cool *** video though.

1, that is awesome that, that video is a GTO and the same procharger config that would go on a V

2, the belt in the video sure looks green to me!

This is the problem I am fighting right now. My belt slips on the procharger and the motor breaks up. I have a new tensioner on order from BruteSpeed... Sure hope it cures my problems!

Have you solved the skip? Also, you're running the 8 rib right? @ what psi?

Yea I have an 8 rib at ~10-11 psi. It slips intermittently >5k. One pull is ok, the next it slips. The weird thing is it's worse when you slowly ramp up to >5k vs WOT.

and with those spacers you made you are stuck with the 8 rib huh? No way you could fit the 10 rib? Just seems easier to go with the 10 rib for added grip since there are only three pulleys in the equation.

Oh no, I still have plenty of room for a 10 rib... I'm just getting F-ing tired of messing with it. The thought of pulling the radiator and all of that... I know I could have it done in a few hours, I'm just so pissed at it. Also I just didn't think I'd need it with such low boost on a F1? Surely (hopefully) it's the tensioner. I thought when I installed it it didn't feel right. But when it slips it misses and hesitates a lot.

But I guess if the new tensioner doesn't do it, I won't have a choice!!

I think it's only jumping around because of the two step rev limiter. It looks fine the whole pass.

I don't think we are saying this is abnormal, just that you don't really realize how much work a tensioner is doing, or how much a belt will stretch during a run.
