Default annoying squeaking noise from rear??

I have this horrible squeaking noise coming from the rear, and for the life of me i just cant figure it out. I drive over any little bump or imperfection in the road and it just squeaks.. When i try bounding the car up and down i don't hear a thing, so I don't think it would be the shocks, its only when driving down the road so im assuming its suspension related.. any troubleshooting ideas?

Thanks

I had a similar squeak and it was from the GM TSB white plastic cradle bushing inserts that were supposedly used to reduce wheelhop (they didn't do anything for my wheelhop).

Yep, mine were causing same issue. I squirt some silicone spray on them every once in a while and it stops the squeak for a few weeks.

So you think it might be my cradle bushings?

I currently have a light squeak from the rear over little bumps and stuff.. and its louder when its wet out... finally found the issue. mine is the trunk lid squeaking on the weather stripping where it meets the rear window... only does it over bumps and while driving.. hard to replicate by hand.

my bushings squeak and creak.....i have BMR antiwheel hop bushings, though... I'm about to get the car on the lift, remove the bushings, and check them to make sure there's no abnormal wear.

Is yours on one side or on both? I have one that's on the right rear I believe but mine squeaks for a couple miles or once I hit higher speeds. Bumps don't seem to affect it though like yours but mines somewhat rhythmic like squeak squeak... squeak squeak... etc. Just trying to see if we have the same problem.

well, i got super annoyed by it. I drenched every bushing and shock with white lithium grease. Problem went away for a day and its back full force again. Mines over any little bump, I would like to assume its the control arm bushings?

I can hear it creak when i push the car side to side .. so that has to be the bushings correct?

to follow up with this thread.. turned out i had a pinion support brace on my car, and it was squeaking on the heatshields above it when it would hit bumps.

Problem solved.
