Cam question
Will the factory ls6 pushrods work with the gt11 cam. http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=LPE&Product_Co de=L210065297&Category_Code=C280
I'll obviously upgrade needed parts but it seems the pushrods are the same size.
What's the best spring and retainer combo for this setup?

Most will not recommend using stock pushrods. They have a chance of bending, which you don't want. I actually have some used 7.400 TSP pushrods if Lingenfelter tells you that you can use stock length.
As for a "best" valve spring, everyone has their opinion. A cam with that kind of lift, you'll need dual springs, so take your pick, really. I'm running Lunati (good for .660 lift) and the whole kit was only $250.

Brian Tooley spring sets are pretty popular, but I think they like any other gold spring kit like patriot or prc.
There are better choices for an ls6 than the gt11 too. I'd shy away from that much lift unless you don't drive much or don't mind changing springs.

I agree, the Comp catalog says this about the LSK lobes "They are VERY hard on parts and not generally recommended in street applications!"

That GT11 would sound pretty epic. But I wouldn't want to drive it daily, my V is a daily driver for now anyways. I'd rock a tick torquemax stage 2 myself.

I'd personally go the 'milder' lift cuz I'd want the valvetrain to last as long as possible for daily driver reliability.
You'll want to do the same type of modifications either way, new oil pump, pushrods, springs, trunion upgrade, tune, etc... But the parts will all last longer. That GT11 has a ton of lift. It would be boner inducing with a choppy idle though.

The trans am that is in the video on tick's page is a local guy. He's switched his setup considerably since then but it does sound pretty good. I believe that was his first startup video so it was untuned at that point. Which makes for a little more of that beautiful lumpy sound... Mmmm caaaaammmmed LS1

I'm patiently waiting... First I'd like to pay the beast off, then I got some other things coming up soon. Hopefully it will put me in a better position to work on the car.
