275 or 245 fronts?
Hi all - have a (very nearly) stock 2005. 275/40 on the rear (because searching at the time said they were acceptable at worst and I always wanted big *** tires).
This has been discussed to death, I know, but I'd love some fresh input from track rats running stock wheels.
Trackmasters is running Thunderhill West 7/18 for $140 for 6+ sessions. I'm leaning toward 245's for steering response and reducing tramlining.
However, it'd be really nice to be able to rotate the tires.
Besides, we all know bigger is better and my V1 would look so cool with 275's all around.
Anyone gone from one to the other and have insights? Many thanks.

I don't think you can do 275/40's up front without rubbing components. Somebody got 275/35 to work but then you're stuck with a small diameter tire that probably won't work well in the back. I run 255/45 all around and there's not much clearance on the inside. Others have run 265/40's up front I think.

Would love some TD wheels as well, but trying to be realistic. Besides, the stockers are easier to clean!
Just ordered Hankook V12 245/45's to go with the 275/40 rears. Excited to get back on the track, new section of Thunderhill looks fun!

No worries, and appreciate the reply. If I can't go square, I figure I may as well stay with the narrower tires up front, at least for this go-round.

I've always run a square setup. Only ran Michelin's on my stock wheels and currently run 275/35's all around on TD's. Its a readily available size in many slicks.
I could probably get away with more size in the back but up front I have huge carbon fiber brake ducts that will rub a bit at full lock.
Without the ducts the 275/35 on TD wheels are not a problem

Hankook V12 are great fun on the street but they start to fall down at the track.
I run 255/40 up front and 275/40 in the rear, I might try 275/40 all the way around next time I need fronts.

Up front I have the splitter so the rubber wicker was trimmed off the bumper so everything sits flush.
From the front of the splitter to the front wheels is smooth underneath...
