Hey guys and gals, I'm new to the forum. I've searched and searched the forum. My v is throwing the p0171 and 174 code. And I am lost. We smoke tested it and no leaks anywhere. Swapped out the maf and plugs and wires are good. The car runs great when you are moving. When it's in open loop it idles fine. When the engine is already hot and you go to start it it has trouble idling for a short time, then it catches itself. Anyone had this happen to them?

p0171 is Lean Bank 1 code, could mean a variety of things, but with the things that you have checked and changed, surprised that you havent found the cause.

After doing the work, have you cleared the code?

Terrible thread title, btw.

Exhaust leak between manifold and cat or at the head maybe. In closed loop it's looking for it and the low pressure at low flow may be sucking in extra oxygen.

I've been getting these codes intermittently. Thought it was my snapped off breather tube. Anyway have a look at this....
