Double check the connectors on your coil packs make sure the main connectors are snug clicked In I'm sure you are only running on 4 cylinders

This isnt Fast and Loud, you cant just start a car idle it and spank it with perfect results... You have to run the car for a while and drive it easily through the rpm range and get it tuned so it may run properly...

If you get it tuned it will run properly...

Sounds like a coil pack, spark plug or wire. Pull codes at autozone and proceed.

He didnt mention tune...

His idle would be crap and it would surge all the time if he had an ignition issue...

Could be many things, including and not limited to:
-Broken Valve Spring? (Cam change, maybe you have duals in there now)
-A poorly done ECM Calibration

If you can get a scan to see if any misfires have been detected.
Do the usual.. check plugs, wires coils.
Lift valve covers and visually inspect springs.

Mine didn't run worth a crap after leaving the battery disconnected for a week. It acted like it had to relearn everything and one of the injectors was making some racket. After a few minutes, it smoothed right out.

what does that even mean? No Lights on? and it instantly drove fine? Did you drive (start / stop /start engine ) a few time?
ECMs do not go 'weird'.

They don't go weird, but these cars HATE low voltage. All kinds of gremlins show up if your battery gets low from sitting or parasitic drain. Maybe that's what he means.

bad grounds have been the source of more of the electrical evilness I've encountered in my 3+ decades of working on cars.

Very true. When I had a battery taking a dump on me and keeping voltage low, the AC would not shut off as well as a couple other weird things. If I could get it to turn off, it would always revert to being on when re-started.
