Carbon Fiber Hoods
Do any exist? Anyone have pictures?
I searched and saw Quik Z06's post about them providing a CF hood, but nothing came of it. I saw one on ebay but I've read fitment is absolute ****... but with everything I've read... I haven't seen ANYTHING.

I own the tooling to make them up. They are made to order, full carbon fiber. Very thin, race weight original extractor design.
They arrive topside primed and is up to the end user to supply hood pins or aerocatch latches in order to secure them.

Correct, they DO NOT have rain drains.
However, here's my take. They were originally an additional $350 option added to the cost of the hood. I'm sure they can be done for the same price again.
But, based on pictures, you have to remove them in order for the vents to function anyways. So they would need to ride around in the trunk at all times.
Now if someone just wants the "look" without the function, I can make them without being cutout and leave it to the end user to paint it black. Or (just thinking out loud) a cheaper alternative would be to epoxy or glue a couple of tabs to the underside and then mount a small common Tupperware type container with a slot to drain the water. Then just pop it out after it rains.

I have emailed Duraflex a couple of times to see if they made any changes about that stingray hood that fails standards. Keep getting the same response, that they weren't aware of it and when I send them a copy of an e-mail of a previous customer service, I don't hear back. I will keep poking them until they either fix it, guarantee a replacement or just take it off their website.

I'm looking for an aftermarket hood to replace the stock one I have, which has some light damage to it. I've seen EC, and I saw the Quikz06 one, and I saw the ebay one... Not looking to spend 2k on a hood though, but I can respect it because it looks clean. Thanks for the info then guys.

Duraflex says their CF hood is "suppose to be a bolt on" waiting for a reply on a guarantee. its about 1k for theirs, but that the hood some people have said there is fitment issues about

I believe so yes, but I think it is because they put the rain guards right there as well. For me, this wouldn't be an issue, but with blown application, I am sure some cutting can be done. I got an e-mail back from Duraflex, saying that they are "informed" that that carbon fiber is a direct bolt on while the fiber glass needs work. The service rep also stated that they are not the manufacturer, so I asked if he can send me the manufacturer's information. Hoping maybe I can get with them and see if the fitment issues were fixed, or can be helped to fixed.
