I see what you're saying now. Yes they have ribbon connector in between the **** PCB and the main board. That's a lot more work than I did though.

Thanks and good luck with your project. That will be cool to see the factory ***** controlling an aftermarket radio.

What about the navigation, is it the oem version in it or some aftermarket?

Good catch, its a lot of work, but it looks like its worth the time for the 06/07 guys. The 04/05 guys, like me, have to get a little more creative.

Bluetooth works fine. The way it's installed, the audio is routed through the factory amp so there's really no difference between the stock radio & this.

Can you post a photo of your steering wheel controls? I didn't know they were different.

'04-05 steering wheel, no audio controls:

- Outer left rocker is up/down through the DIC options
- Inner left rocker is up to cycle thru the digital speedo/odometer options, down for traction control
- Inner right is up to set cruise, down to turn cruise on/off
- Outer right is cruise up/down, resume

I imagine at some point I've seen an '06/07 wheel, but I didn't pay attention to the buttons. What from the above list is not on the '06/07 wheel in order to have the audio controls?

Oh wow, they moved the cruise control to the turn signal on mine (throwback to the original GM turn signal lever in my Trans Am) and I have Inner Right Vol Up/Down and Outer right Seek Up/Down.

Your amazon link doesn't show anything. Why Volkswagon harnesses?

Oh weird. It looks like since I've actually purchased everything, it says 0 things left on the wish list.

This will connect to the stock antenna and will fit on your aftermarket radio.
Metra 70-1784 Radio Wiring Harness for Audi 88-99/Volkswagen 80-Up
http://a.co/bZW5lBp
Pair this with the male version (reverse harness). You'll need to move one of the pins in order to get the ground side of the steering wheel controls (Pin 2 on C3)

Use this to intercept anything on the C1 connector. It basically is an extension cord for the C1 connector. Steering wheel control supply voltage is on Pin 13.

Default What model and size is your head unit

Dear sir
I'm a owner of 07 cts 68000 miles and I came across your video because I'm want to change my factory head unit. So my question is what model unit is yours and what size unit did you purchase.

I have some questions, hopefully OP will see it and answer.

You wrote:

1) Where are you picking up constant + and switched + from?
2) you use low level RCA outs into the amp L and R, yes? And it's only the fronts, because the amp in the trunk does all the speaker distribution?
3) on C3, do you use the high level L and R for anything?

Are you leaving C3 alone and basically using C1 and C2?
