Unhappy Help... No brake lights

well the highmount brake light has never worked, but now ive got nothing. The reverse, LP, turn, and tails still work fine. Instinct tells me it must be the pedal switch, right? i glanced up under there quickly last night, but couldnt really see s##t. Any thoughts? Ive almost been rear-ended twice and need to get this fixed asap.

i know this will seem silly but when is the last time you checked the bulbs themselves, often the bright side of the filament will burn out, and it could be that you were cruising around on one side being out for a length of time, and the other side finally died on you.

If anything its the easiest to check

I guess that info would have been helpful in my original post. Yes I put new bulbs in on one side... I'll try the other side today, maybe I just got a bad (new) bulb.

Does cruise control shut off when you tap the brakes?? If not then that switch must be your problem....If not might wanna check your fuses.

As odd as it sounds, I had both sides (bulbs) go bad on me at the same time. I went crazy trying to diagnose it, and it ended up being the bulbs themselves.

It is a neon based tube in the third brake light, and for that reason cannot just be swapped out. I believe they are still on a national back order, however if you look into the "other" site there is a company doing an LED swap for them run ya 250$ though
