I just got this car saturday and did not hear the pistion slapping until I got home . You can only hear it when you turn the car off (sound like an diesel truck).

The car comes with a 90 day warranty on the engine, transmission and other stuff.

You can hear it in the video. Car has 55k miles on it.

Yep thres a 99% chance that the motor mounts are shot. Take it to the dealer and get them replaced under warranty while you still can. Then save for some Creative Steel or UUC ones for when the replacement mounts take a ****.

Ok here is why the motor mounts will cause this. (cause I know you will ask) The stock flywheel in this car is a dual mass. Its ridiculously heavy and carries a lot of inertia with it. When the stock mounts go bad (this happens to EVERY V) and you shut off the engine, all that weight is still swinging around out back and it makes the engine sound like its try to diesel.

Best advice I can give you is this. Get rid of that turd stock flywheel and clutch and get something lighter like an LS7 setup or even a monster stage 1 or 2. If you plan on modding the car for more power perhaps you will want to up the stage on the clutch to a 3 if going with the monster. You can also go with a twin disk. There is a thread for the Fidanza twin and I run and Exedy Hyper twin in my V and love it!

Next, and I would actually do this before or at least at the same time, get some better mounts. UUC makes some nice ones but are a little pricey. Creative Steel makes some nice ones as well and I think that is all right now. I have a set of mounts that were a limited supply run. I think only 10 or 20 sets ever made but they are the best you can buy and were made by a guy on here named 2003RC51.

Yeah, what everyone else is saying -- most Vs do this sooner or later, thanks to the soft Cadillac mounts and that flywheel. It's a small problem, not a big one, and it's easy to fix. Do the motor mounts first -- at least try to get your dealer to swap in a new set of stock mounts -- and go from there.

This sucks.

The motor mount where replaced 40,000 miles ago (55,000 miles on the car now).
The dealership said the mount are fine.
The tech said this high HP motor makes the car shake on turn off.
I'm calling BS. My last car puts 620 hp to the rear wheels and never did this shaking ****.

Look like I'm going to put the car on jack stands and see if I can jack the engine up.

426 Hemi with D Series Pro-Charger. Super sick car. Corvette Killer .

Yeah but your last car wasn't a Cadillac. They tried to retain the nice comfy quiet ride and a lot of parts just didn't hold up to the abuse of the LS motors. The motor mounts aren't like most companies motor mounts.

On my car it was the flywheel that made the rattle sound on start up. Not the motor mounts

Like I said previoulsy, motor mounts and a new clutch/flywheel will solve all your problems!
