Default National Speed new project car 04 CTS-V

I picked up my new daily driver this past Saturday.
It is a fine specimen, Raven Black with Creme interior and Sunroof. 60,000 miles on the clock and stock.........not for long.....
Threw it on our dynojet tonight for the baseline test. I have a K&N FIPK intake on order and should be here on Thursday.
Jordan called it before I even started the dyno, and he was spot on!

Future plans call for,
Kooks longtubes, off road, with a custom National Speed Inc built catback exhaust.
LS7 clutch kit
B&M short shifter
Custom cam and supporting mods
Custom HpTuners tune
275 rear tires
Wheel hop fixes

Just a nice clean package with 400+rwhp.

Here is the baseline graph, and I am sure Jordan will get some nice pics up of the car tomorrow.

My guess with the K&N is 343/339.....have fun with the car. maybe you guys should be the first ones do put together a do it yourself built rear end package for under 8k. If you could do it for significantly less id guarantee you would sell the hell out of them.

Well Frost stopped by the shop today, so we coaxed him into firing up the laptop and giving the V a tune. My favorite part is the elimination of the CAGS!
Also cut off the stock mufflers tonight and put on a couple of Flowmasters in place, compete with C6 ZO6 tips. Looks good, and sounds great for a free upgrade with junk we had laying around the shop.

Here is the graph from the Frost tune.

And a couple of pics of the car....

I've got a few pictures of the car on the rollers today that I'll post up tomorrow. I'll be documenting the progress from here forth, I was a little too slammed the past few days to document unfortunately.

I absolutely love this car. The deal is sealed for me; next car is a V1 CTS-V.

Here is the final numbers from tonight.
So to recap, I have had the car less then a week,
15 or so dyno pulls.
Flowmaster mufflers
K&N Intake
Tune
From the lowest pull to the highest, it is a solid 20hp and 20 torque. Not bad! I really love this car.

The tune is an important part of the equation. After just bolting on the intake and redynoing, I lost 10 rwhp. It was quite rich, because it was running in a different part of the map. A quick retune got the gains back, and another 10hp.

Yep I picked up about the same with the K&N and a tune. Its worth 8-10rwhp with a tune.

Bringing this one back up to update. So far I have just been enjoying my daily driven V, only installing a custom Hendrix clutch with Spec steel flywheel, and a couple of front tires. Since the last time it was on the dyno. I have put almost 11,000 miles on it since the purchase around June!

The V goes into the body shop next Monday to replace the front bumper after an incident with a dead deer in the road, that a vehicle ahead of me hit. Nowhere to go at 78 mph. It was pretty minor just putting a small tear in the bumper, and knocking out the lower mesh grill. Along with the lower bumper close out panel is gone, and there is deer "pieces" front to rear under the car. I don't pity the guy that has to clean that mess.

After she comes back next week, round 2 of bolt on mods will start.
Parts on order include
Kook's 1 7/8" longtubes
Kook's connection pipes
Corsa sport cat back
B&M short shifter
Creative Steel new design motor mounts and transmission mounts

I am curious to see how much over the current 350 rwhp it will end up with, with these mods.

Regarding round 3 mods.......

I am working with Thomas at Hendrix Engineering to come up with a TVS 119 blower kit for my V1, so round 3 mods should get pretty exciting with the 119, and a custom Virginia Speed blower cam and spring package.

Pics will start over the next couple of days, as the parts start rolling in.
