Default My '04 is acting strange...

For at least the last 6 months I'll occasionally get a slow start when I turn the key. When this happens The left display which I keep set on TPMS will reset to Water Temp (I think), and the right display will no longer show the digital speed I keep it on. Lately, a couple of times my radio will not be on automatically as I alway keep it.

Although this has been happeneing for at least 6 months, it seems to be getting a bit more frequent...I'm figuring that the battery may be on it's way out...dying a very slow death. However, tonight I got a "Service Theft System" reading on my nav display and the yellow key/lock icon on the dash cluster stayed on for the ride home.

I've had a W4M ecm for a couple of years that I've never touched since putting it in (the day it came in the mail).

I Suspect the battery, but I wanted to run it by you people to see if you had anything else to offer first, before I spend...(what do our batteries cost?)

Sounds like a battery related problem but it could be a problem with the key your using. If you have a spare key and remote maybe try them and see if it changes anything.

ya it sounds like the battery is not having quite enough kick to get it started good, so it's struggling till your alternator picks up

Just an Update for anyone doing a search on this subject later...

It was indeed that battery. I got a new battery, and it starts like a champ!

I also just realized I misprinted the year of my car in the topic line...It's an '05.

It really sucks when your doing a search, and a thread that has the same problem your having just ends with no answers.
Thanks for the update.

I swear, the batteries on these cars are pitiful. I will say however that walmart battery has been a champ for our '06 V! great performance/price!

^ Last 3 Walmart batteries I owned all went to **** very fast and one blew up...like a bomb. Sounded like a shotgun went off in my truck. Walmart was good about warranty though....but I will never put one in the V that is for sure.

gigga-what?! on the caddy-forums, there's gotta be at least 100 V's all running around with the Wally-world replacement battery. I dont think there's a single failure, let alone explosion accounted for there!

Scary to say the least, but makes me think you have some electrical gremlins or something external from the battery influencing your voltage.
