I guess this is kinda my farewell to the LS boards. You guys have been great and the V1 was an absolute blast to drive. But I think the M5 is a slight upgrade in fit and finish and it's just a tick faster. I will say this manual 6 speed V was a bit more fun than the SMG.

Thanks. I'll be around. As much as I like this car I still desire a V2. Some shots with my buddies V2....

Thanks. I picked up a MazdaSpeed6 back in Jan when I sold the V. Used prices on the V2 haven't budged so I shifter my interests and ended up with a great deal on this CPO warrantied M5. I never wanted a BMW, maybe a M3 or M5 but I never guessed I could get into this car for so cheap. I couldn't pass it up.

I wanted an M3 at one time too, then came time for the valve adjustment at 50K miles, along with about $1,500 of other services the car needed. The M5 is pretty sick, but there's no way in h3ll I'd go back to another German car after owning the V.

There's no way I would own a BMW without a warranty. As for the V1, I can honestly say I enjoyed the car but the fit and finish was crude at best. The nav unit is the worst I have ever seen in any car. And even the V2 doesn't compare to the chassis feel of the M5. My buddy who owns that V2 was very impressed with it, and that's coming from 2005.

Yeah dude, the nav sucks. Congrats on the M5. Have you launched it hard out of the hole yet? You'll be back...

Nice car! I picked up a M5 also, I haven't had time to post pictures because I've been in Afghanistan. Can't wait to get home.

Yeah when the warranty runs up I hope to be far away from it. I've got just over 2 years and 39k miles left. I drive about 5-6k miles a year.

And Godspeed 427-WS6. Get home safe.

My M3 was a CPO too, but CPO's dont cover maintenance. I'm not sure about the 5 Series, but the 3 Series M needs about $2,000 worth of service at or around 50K. Again, CPO doesn't cover that. What makes it so expensive is the spark plug change, valve adjustment, oil change, cabin filters, and it goes on for about 2 pages. It also didn't help that the local BMW dealer here has idiots working for them. Those items above don't sound like much, but in that car, it's a huge PITA.

I won't disagree with you about the fit and finish, but the nav doesn't matter to me. That was the first thing to come out of my car, along with the Blose amp/speakers.

I hope your car can run neck and neck with a V2. I got a chance to play around with my buddies V2 and he walks me from every aspect but not by much. Being down 50hp and gobs of tq he and I were pretty impressed. Plus he has a tune and exhaust on his V2.

All the service is up to date on this car. Oil changes are $250 but the brakes and plugs recently done. Rear brakes are due in 7000 miles which for me is about a year and I can do my own work.

Yeah but plugs for this car at BMW are $52 each x 10 and another $500 in labor. $1000+ for plugs

Beautiful cars. What do you consider cheap for an M5? I've run a few of them here in the Houston area with my V2, they keep up for a couple seconds and then.....bye bye
