Sold my V1 for a V2....ended up with this...
I guess this is kinda my farewell to the LS boards. You guys have been great and the V1 was an absolute blast to drive. But I think the M5 is a slight upgrade in fit and finish and it's just a tick faster. I will say this manual 6 speed V was a bit more fun than the SMG.

Thanks. I picked up a MazdaSpeed6 back in Jan when I sold the V. Used prices on the V2 haven't budged so I shifter my interests and ended up with a great deal on this CPO warrantied M5. I never wanted a BMW, maybe a M3 or M5 but I never guessed I could get into this car for so cheap. I couldn't pass it up.

I wanted an M3 at one time too, then came time for the valve adjustment at 50K miles, along with about $1,500 of other services the car needed. The M5 is pretty sick, but there's no way in h3ll I'd go back to another German car after owning the V.

There's no way I would own a BMW without a warranty. As for the V1, I can honestly say I enjoyed the car but the fit and finish was crude at best. The nav unit is the worst I have ever seen in any car. And even the V2 doesn't compare to the chassis feel of the M5. My buddy who owns that V2 was very impressed with it, and that's coming from 2005.

Great buy however.

I won't disagree with you about the fit and finish, but the nav doesn't matter to me. That was the first thing to come out of my car, along with the Blose amp/speakers.

My M3 was a CPO too, but CPO's dont cover maintenance. I'm not sure about the 5 Series, but the 3 Series M needs about $2,000 worth of service at or around 50K. Again, CPO doesn't cover that. What makes it so expensive is the spark plug change, valve adjustment, oil change, cabin filters, and it goes on for about 2 pages. It also didn't help that the local BMW dealer here has idiots working for them. Those items above don't sound like much, but in that car, it's a huge PITA.

Yeah but plugs for this car at BMW are $52 each x 10 and another $500 in labor. $1000+ for plugs
