Default been gone for a while...Help?

I have a CTS-V i built a couple years ago that i think needs to be updated. The car is 402 ls2 built bottom end. AFR 225 heads, Big cam, fast 90.....all supporting mods. Car puts down 529 to the tire and im trying to get some more out of it. I know the stock 2 piece drive shaft is kicking my *** but with a solid Id break rears all day. Whats the new **** thats gonna put me over 600??

Sounds pretty stout as it sits. About the only other way is bigger cubes, spray, FI, or all three!

I was thinking i could get closer to the 600 mark with some intake upgrages, larger port on my current heads, and the cam is as big as i can go without going roller. driveshaft also would help bring the numbers up. I along with the car am in Las Vegas now and the elevation/heat isnt gonna help either.

its an NA car...No spray.

you might get another 15rwhp or so with a FAST 102. Otehrwise I dont see you making 600 on motor maybe 550 max even with ported heads.

I also dont see how a driveshaft is gonna make you gain rwhp. Whats done to the tranny as well, anything more and IMO youll be pushing the limits of a stocker. Not to mention how are you even putting that kinda power to the ground? Drag radials? I dont see you using that power whenever you want right now.

driveshaft like any other rotating mass can be improved upon to allow you to free up hp the car already makes. i have no idea what gains a one price lightened driveshaft would bring to the v, maybe 5-10% of what you already have.

Makes sense but i think itd be more of a SOTP feel not translate to a dyno just like lightweight flywheels. Not may prove any gained horsepower it just "feels" faster.

I wouldnt think out of 18-20% drivetrain loss in a V that a driveshaft would account for 5-10 of it. I dunno lol who knows, i guess no one since there isnt a one pc driveshaft yet haha..

well you can see a lightened flywheel gains on the dyno as well. it helps the motor spin freely, not sure about the v one though

It's gonna be real hard to see 600rwhp NA no matter what you do. Like someone already said, if you switch to a FAST 102 you could pick up another 10-15. Not sure how well those 102's respond to porting either. What headers are you running? Maybe going to a 1 7/8th since you said it's been a few years since you built the car? You could probably get real close 550rwhp just going to the 102.

Not to many have a one piece drive shaft. Seems nobody nows how to make one for the V and make it work.

Jon,
Your gonna needs n2o or FI to get to 600hp. A 402ci motor, no matter how good of heads/cam package, will not hit 600rwhp. Keep in mind this motor is a little high on the CR, so if you choose the FI route, better keep the boost low and def get a meth kit.

Also, on a side note. I was talking with Bill about where the car is going to be delivered and driven. After you transport the car *MAKE SURE YOU GET IT RE-TUNED!* its a speed density tune, and i will assure you the motor will blow up if you don't get it recalibrate for the altitude change.

Gl with the car.
