Default My new toy (XR650R)

Well, it's been a long time coming... but I finally got a bike! My wife threatened more than my life if I got a crotch rocket like I really wanted (she threatened the 'V!!), I'm not into cruisers... so the XR got the nod.

So far I can't keep the front wheel on the ground in 1st and 2nd... and that's geared up for highway use by the previous owner! Once I wear this gay street tire off the back, I'll swap the sprockets back to OEM specs and get a good set of dual-sport tires. We have a ton of riding here in East Texas... thousands of acres everywhere you look.

I got her up to an indicated 104MPH which is far faster than I need to go on a bike like this.

Anyways, I'm excited and wanted to share

Thanks,
Mark

Lake Tyler? Hmmmm... not that I'm aware of, but I'll look into it. There is a lot of private property where people ride... you just have to know where to go and how to get in.
I plan to go to the nearby OHV parks, pay $10 and have 5,000 acres to ride, as the private properties are generally only 100-300 acres.

They are pretty choked up stock. Head over to Thumpertalk.com to find more info. on how to free it up.

I have one fully done up in Supermoto trim.

104mph on that thing?!? You're brave/crazy. Not putting down your ride, just saying that I'm a 4 wheel type of person lol.

I can identify with that. Coming from Eastern Kentucky (it's riding heaven, both in dirt and pavement) back to coastal NC was really a shock, both in quantity and most importantly, quality of riding areas available. There are straight stretches of pavement around here more than 8 miles long... not exactly SM country!

To combat the shock, I've immersed myself in Gen3/4 projects.

Nice bikes... and some sweet projects in the background
