broken brake bleeders
Well, I want to bleed my brakes and install some dot5 fluid.
I found two broken bleeder screws and I broke one more trying to lossen them. All three are broke flush with the caliper. I'm not fully sure how to deal with this. I think I'll try some heat and an easy out after I shoot them with an rust lossen product. Really hope that works
I've been searching for a aftermarket bleeder screw but I can't find the size. GM wanted $25 per screw and I need 8 to redo all.
My local parts store can't find enough Info for a screw on a Brembo brake.
If someone could send me in a direction to where I can purchase the parts I need, that would be great... that is if I can remove these F%$^&#ng bleeders.
Thanks

Sorry I can't help with the specifics on the bleeder screws, but what makes you think they are different/proprietary? You can pick up metric assortments at the local auto parts, worst case...As for getting it out, yikes...be really careful with using the easy out, as far as chips and such getting in there...
Dot 5 (silicone)? Make absolute sure every single bit of the old stuff is out! 3/4 and 5 don't mix so well

I searched the pegasus site and came up with 3 diferent lengths besides the banjo style. 1.5", 1.43", 1.20" I kinda hope the 1.20 length speed bleeders will work, don't know much about them. Seems they could work for a quick bleed.
I won't use the DOT 5 if they arn't compatible. DOT 4 will work for me. I would like to buy new calipers but I was hoping to purchace rotors and pads. Being that 3 calipers have one broken bleeder each and I don't know if I can get all of them free. A $2500 brake job is a bit much at one time... pad/rotor/caliper/shim/braided lines x 4

Look into a set of speed bleeders. You can google the website... I called them up and gave them my vehicle info and they sent me the parts. I love them... it's much easier to bleed my brakes now... I don't remove the wheels/tires and I can bleed the brakes in 10 minutes. You can't get to the the bleeder valve on the inside of the caliper without removing the wheels, but honestly I don't worry about it.
They have stainless steel screws also, if you're interested.

Actually, forgot to mention this pump works great for single man operation.
Is there any special procedure for the ABS? IIRC, a Jeep I had needed a special procedure for bleeding the brakes, but then again it was chrysler
