2007 CTSV...$25K... Good Deal?
Hey guys, I just sold my C6 to get into a family vehicle. Always loved the idea of a ctsv, but my bank will only finance an 07. Well I have found a 07, with 50k miles, excellent condition, for $25k w/100k mile extended warranty. Is this a smokin deal, or just "ok"? Havnt done a ton of research, but I know 07s are very rare, but havnt done alot of price checking. Just looking for some advice from you guys! Thanks for your time,
David

I wouldn't call it a deal of the century, but sounds like a good deal, provided it's in good shape and checks out...I bought my '07 a few months ago for a little more (but slight less mileage) and felt I got a pretty good price and was worth it to me. Granted, I bought this at a dealer, so maybe private party is a little less, but much has to do with the market conditions where you're at...These things move quick though, if they're priced right and decent color/condition, etc.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I wouldn't think of letting my '07 for that little.
There are 04-05 Vs in DFW that are going for $22k-$24k...so $25k for a 07 is awesome.

You two guys have 07s, I have never driven a ctsv ls2. How is the power? I am coming from a ls3 vette, I know the power isnt really comparable, but do you believe getting this car is worth the buck? Thanks for your imput guys

I came from an LS2 GTO w/6-speed and while that was slightly lighter, this one makes up for it with the 3.73 gearing (vs. 3.46) and IMO the engine seems stronger in this one (even with both being 400 hp advertised, but that is probably placebo effect) for whatever reason, although the 'feel' between driving the two is different...Can't pinpoint it, but the GTO felt more raw (in a good way), yet this one feels powerful and a little more refined...Could be the *slightly* better oem shifter and tighter drivetrain (my GTO clunked from day 1) and the caddy's interior is quieter with the windows up, let's say...
The handling on these is far better than the GTO and the brakes, too. I could only imagine these with anything upgraded! Not saying the GTO was bad, just in comparison. Since you'd be coming from a C6 'vette, it probably won't be anything of an improvement in that respect and may feel different, but don't think you'd be disappointed either, esp considering this is a practical 4-door that weighs ~3800+ lbs.! The 'feel' may seem less, but I bet overall performance won't be much worse with one of these. Plus, you could do the typical LSx improvements to really wake it up.

i got my 07 with almost 32,000 on the clock for 29,500 including TTL.
but i got fairly lucky with that price. all other 07, with similar miles where going for 33 to 36 k.
since it does have the warranty, and it is an 07 (which is the best year model), i say it is a good deal as well. go for it.

Not a smokin' deal but a pretty fair price I'd say. A few months ago, I was more than comfortable paying 28.5k for my 07 with 26k miles on the clock. Especially considering it took me 8 months to find one locally.
