Default Car popping at higher revs before rev limiter??

As the title states my V has been popping and acting like it's starved for fuel when I'm gettin down on it hard from takeoff only. I haven't experienced this except when I run out in first before 2nd shift. I know what it feels like to bang it off the rev limiter but this is a little different. It did it tonight after I had shifted into 2nd at around 3,500....Just felt like I was out of gas or something.....Thanks in advance if anyone has dealt with any issues like this.

Pull your spark plugs and check them out. Thatd be where id start first. Then Id check the fuel filter.

thanks guys...I took the mass air loose today and it looked sealed up and was clean. I'll take the plugs out tomorrow and check em out. It has 85k on it and not really any service records except the diff being replaced, so who knows if or when the plugs have been changed.

I just pulled and replaced the plugs on my 70k CTS-V and the plug we pretty much perfect looking. Nice chocolate color. I think they are meant to last for 100k miles.

*EDIT* my point is the spark plugs aren't the 1st place I would look.

Have you changed tires recently? My Corvette did the same thing with just a slightly taller tire in the front. I can take TC off and it's fine.

Mine is doing the exact same thing except mine is happening at 4500 rpm. I have an appointment at 10am to get on the dyno and do some data logging. I may need an update to my tune. We'll see.

I also through in a Brand new set before my last dyno and one of the was bad out of the box. Had popping during the upper rpms only to figure out a hairline crack in the porcelain was causing the problem. Im sure after 80k miles plugs take a beating.

Where would you suggest to start?

Well I pulled the mass air and all piping loose and checked and made sure everything was tight. I'm not sure if something was loose or if I had gotten some bad gas on my trip back from New Orleans....The first time I had ran the car that close to E or maybe I had picked up some trash doin donuts tryin to make the last couple hundred miles of tire life fun. Either way it's all cleared up now......Self fixer or maybe a problem that will show again...Just wait and see I guess

Yeah I saw your thread and pics on that one.....You have a good bit of internal mods...It's great to hear that you got it before it did some damage.
