Default What shifter is this?

I just finished installing a Pissnuoff shifter, and it appears I already had an aftermarket shifter of some sort... but I have no idea what this is. Does anybody recognize this piece?

I would say that is a Katech version 1, prior to making it a two piece

Fixed that for you. I'd like to hear how it compares also.

Not sure how it compares to the one pictured above, but compared to the stock shifter, PISSNUOFF's is far superior as far shift feel, pattern/throw and play. Replacing the stocker is definitely worth doing and PISSNUOFF's shifter is a good option if you don't want to spend a ton on the B&M or Katech. I've had mine in for about a year and have no problems with it.

Hi guys,

Let me say this... I had installed a B&M in my old Trans Am, and the difference from stock was night and day, it was like a whole new car.

The Pisnuoff shifter is an improvement over whatever this is, but it isn't night and day. Honestly I think the biggest difference is that the new shifter is a little lower in the boot, and when compared side by side the pisnuoff shifter had an extra 1/4 to 3/8 more leverage on the bottom side of the car (if that makes sense). There is no difference in vibration.

I'm willing to part with it if anybody's intersted (killernoodle has first dibbs)... I don't need it. PM me an offer if you want it.

The extra 3/8" that I add on the bottom equates to about another 5/8" reduction in throw. The total reduction is about 2". I also lower the **** height about 1/2" because it's more comfortable and the stock height is just too high and looks weird. I'm glad that it was an improvement over whatever shifter that is that you removed.

The B&M is very notchy and noisy, but the bolt action feeling was kind of neat.

How much is the PISSNUOFF short shifter?

Does it require the same install as other aftermarket shifters or easier since it is a modified stock piece?

Thanks,

LAW

I have only installed a PISSNUOFF shifter, and that was easy, i cannot imagine that the others are much different, they both have to bolt back into the car the same way, so they should all have a similar install experience.

If you are comfortable doing relatively easy mechanical task, a shifter should not be a big deal

$185 plus a refundable core charge of $115.

Install is nearly identical to other shifters. Some have slightly different designs.
