Volant CAI Info
So, I know after a few of saw the price the tony tone (his thread) got on his Volant we started thinking changing to that. Some of us from stock and some of us from the K&N due to terrible heat soak. I contacted Volant because no matter where I went every CAI was for the LS6 V. This is the email I received back from them:
"Sorry but currently we do not offer a system for the 06-07 CTS-V. As soon as we find a test vehicle we will build this system."
So number one: Any SoCal LS2 Vs that want to be a test car, do it. Volant
Number 2: I have heard companies say this before, and you can still make them work due to the very little difference between the cars. So, does anyone with an LS2 have the Volant.

I thought they made one for the LS2 as well...but according to the comapny, they dont. and its not listed in there part list anymore. I ask, because i know people had it and it seemed weird. which is why i emailed there tech department.
Bama, I will take it! haha

You are correct. V-Guy over in the Cadillac forums has a Volant on his LS2. The outside diameter of the TB is the same, so all you need to do is drill a hole and insert a vacuum line take-off fitting just before the TB.

Oh, they're way out in Rancho Cucamonga, yuck
Is this the nipple on the air tract you guys are referring to? It essentially is used just to bring air into the PCV system and what I did is run one of those ricer filters off the nipple that comes off the engine bay, and plugged the nipple on the air tract (this was on my GTO, using stock elbow). I always wondered if it would run leaner that way (being the MAS has registered the airflow and it is going into the engine, rather than being 'sucked' into the PCV), but never experienced an issue. Only mention this in case somebody wanted to run a CAI that did not have this nipple on the elbow and didn't want to install one, or whatever. It won't pass smog that way, but neither would an aftermarket CAI (unless it has CARB, say in CA).
When I finish my 'custom' air intake setup, I'm gonna do without the nipple and run the ricer filter as I mentioned above.

I just bought a '06 V and the owner gave me a brand new Volant still sealed up in the box but theres no hole in the intake tube at all? The part number is 15857150 so its definitely for a V. He already has a FPE intake but I dont like the whistle sound it makes so I though Id try the Volant out.
I opened the Volant box and theres no hole in the Volant intake tube or 90° degree fitting either in the plastic parts bag? Maybe the newer Volants dont have the hole already predrilled?? I guess I could drill a hole....anyone know what size 90° fitting Id need to attach to the hose? I just moved this past weekend so my micrometer is somewhere in a box marked garage....we have over 150 boxes so its not easy to get to.
