The part number is on the right side, rear of the diff.
You can not see it by looking, but you can if you use a mirror & flashlight.
It is possible to hold a small camera at the correct angle and take a picture.
1st Gen. # 10361308 --- '04 & some '05s
2nd ---- # 10368780 --- mostly '05
3rd ---- # 157937556 -- all '06-'07
4th ---- # 25873498 --- was not released til 2008 and is the replacement for all V1s
>This is not to be confused with the total redesigned cradle & rear of '08 to present CTS.

its a hybrid, it looks like an original since the very first one in the list above starts with the same 3 digits.

Can you take a non V case 06-07 and put the V guts in it and accomplish the same thing??

157XXXX or 258XXXX case, with V internals. Yes or no? Lol

My search indicates that I posted an incorrect part#. I got those part numbers from a previous discussion, but evidently that part number appears to be an old part number for the gear lube.
Opps!
Thanks for posting your part number.
You in fact have a 2nd Gen rear.
I need to edit my post.
