I posted in one of my other threads about a knocking noise

I have some noise coming from the rear end of the car between gears when i shift. Its pretty much when i shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to third, when i let off the clutch its a knock and sometimes when pushing it in, its not all the time and just seems a little excessive. Maybe a knock isnt the best word to desrcibe it, it just makes a chunk noise.

I need a bushing replaced and going to see someone about that today... dont know if that will help but i just wanted to post a new thread and get input on what my rear end noise could be when shifting in lower gears

The bushing you are speaking of is the rear diff bushing and is most likely what is causing you clunk. These cars are notorious for it. The stock soft rubber one wears out over time.

is there an upgrade i can purchase that is more durable than the stock one?

Just got back from the garage and the guy said the same thing. Bushing or maybe mounts. He def. wants to change the bushings and look at the mounts when he has the car on the lift

Creative steel also makes one. I am having mine installed along with their tranny mount and engine mounts along with an LS7 clutch and 18lb aluminum flywheel.

I installed the creative steel bushing and it reduced the clunking significantly. There are other causes to the clunking though...

Anybody have theswe bushings in that can comment on the wear and tear of how long they have lasted you? or how much it cost to have them put in?
