Dyno tune on Wednesday :)
So I bought my 05 V a little over a month ago and got bored with the dull quiet ride so I decided to go out and buy some long tube headers, borla cat back, and a K&N intake. Now that everything is installed I searched and found a tuner local who would dyno tune my car. I called CARTEK in garwood, NJ to setup an appointment and to see what this car can make. They also advised me to run a 180* t-stat because thats where the motor likes to run at? So I'm going to get that installed at the same time as the tune. What kind of power should I be looking to put down? I have searched and read around and it seems like most people are getting into the upwards of 370whp so I'm guessing thats where I should be?

Remember 100 degrees of IAT = 10% horsepower
So 20 degrees is 2% - and 8 hp at stock levels
That's thoretical of course, but easy to note a small percentage gain will exist.

I did the bypass and the stat in about 30 minutes... As my car will never see subzero temps... I think the bypass/160 is a pretty solid mod to do to try to combat IAT's just that much more.

There are many people, threads and discussions showing why 160°F stats are for the most part, a waste mod.
I do however endlessly fight the Oven effect of the Gen I V's, it always seems to be a battle... Need that vented hood I guess.

As for my guess.
Cat back does little to none for power... its just sound...
K&N ... remember to keep that MAF clean if running that type of tune.
+ headers.. the larger 1 7/8. you will get a hair more hp up top.
My guess is DynoJet - pending model type or eddy loading dynojet ...
Good Tune: 366 SAE corrected, smoothed 3.

Im going to say you will make EXACTLY 435,821 Monkey Power to the rear wheels!
Whats so bad with the K&N as I am currently running that same intake?
I have to say it would be heatsoak but wouldnt ANY intake get that in our small engine bays?
