Default mod bug is biting

Well it's time for some modding, problem is im on a 2k budget, i found a clutch kit for $500 http://easttexasmusclecars.com/produ...ain/slayer.htm Does anyone have any experience or should i just go with the monster stage 2?
I want some cut outs so I need to find a good place to get them best price,

I also need all mounts/bushings replaced so im thinking CS everything.

Or should i just say f@ck it and get nitrous kit and fuel system?

I personally would donthe clutch and stuff, bc if you just do nitrous you are gonna need a new clutch shortly after anyway. I have cs mounts and love then. I have a monster stage 3 on order right now should be here soon. Get a light flywheel i have heard they make a worldnof diffrence on these cars.

I agree. I have the Monster 2 and love it! This car really woke up with the 18lb flywheel and the level 2 clutch is great.

Stay away from the Hendrix clutch. The first one that tried it had to send it back and ended up getting screwed. There is a reason Hendrix is not on this forum(or the Cadillac Forums) anymore. I think someone ended up getting it to fit.

I'm just running a single nozzle setup. I'd suggest a nitrous outlet plate kit though.

Your sig still lists stuff you haven't installed yet. Won't that satiate the urge?

Nitrous and a clutch kit would probably run you about a grand. If you installed it yourself you'd have a good chunk left over for something fun... like hookers.

Clutch and nitrous for a grand? Good luck with that. You'll have a grand into the nitrous kit alone with electronics, window switch, wot switch, bottle warmer, remote opener, switch panel, purge kit. I suggest grabbing a Harris speedworks microedge controller.

Agree with itsslow. To do a nitrous right it's gonna run around 1k and my clutch kit with flywheel fell just short of a grand.

That's what I get for talking about stuff I haven't bought yet. I've just seen ppl say they got a clutch kit for $500 and I've seen basic nitrous kits on summit for $400. I always underestimate costs. :/

Ya you can buy basic kits for cheap but they don't come with everything you need. In the endnyou will be around 1k. And you can get cheap clutches that go with stock flywheel and stuff for cheap ya. But if you plan in doing or have mods you have to pay for a clutch that handles power. IMO I wouldn't buy a cheap clutch get one that you'll get your money out of. Ya know?

No worries bud, sad thing about it is the actual nitrous base kit is cheaper then the rest of the setup. Can you buy it and spray right then yea, but if you want safe and dependable you gotta get the extra stuff. Once you have it all setup and tuned nitrous is no more dangerous then boost.

Amen. I wouldnt want to spray without the window switch and all the safety stuff to paranoid to hurt the motor.

yeah im thinkking with going with the ls7 kit from luke @ lindsay, its a lil over 600 with the light flywheel option. I think that way i can also get the mounts, bushings, cut outs and finally install the intake and get it all retuned. after that i'll start saving for a good nitrous setup

That's EXACTLY true...Back in the day I bought the "Mr big shot" kit for the 5.0. What I was told by the local speed shop it was "everything I needed" for under $600. I ended up spending another $500 on the rest of the accessories. The good thing is that the internet has leveled the playing field and keeps bogus shops like the one I used to HAVE to deal with honest and in line on pricing.

Just ordered my ls7 clutch from luke, creative steel motor mounts, trans mount, and shifter bushing. I can't wait to get these things installed along with the volant intake and short shifter, plus im going catless, so hopefully ill see a few gains on the dyno.
