Default Chrome Door Pieces... See Inside Thread

Ok so here are a couple pictures of my CTS-V, the first taken by the previous owner and the second by me.

I bought it with a couple things that I'm going to change, basically some de-modding of appearance stuff. Its going to the body shop next week to have the holes filled that were drilled for a front plate and I'm taking the front ground effects off. But another thing that needs changed are the chrome pieces at the top of the door. Do you guys know what they pieces are called? Where I can find some of the pieces in black and how to remove them? Thanks.

I'd say dibs on the front splitter if I had the funds. That looks like a Specter werks splitter and is worth 600 or so if IRC.

So you don't think it is replacing a stock piece on the pillar that was there before? And thanks for the into on the splitter, I had looked around and hadn't seen one on a V. I like it better in person than in pictures, but its just not my taste. Plus it does have some rock chips in scratches where the rest of the bumper doesn't and is in great condition so if I kept the splitter I'd want to repaint it so I'd rather just take it off and sell it.

Yeah I would think so but its not getting lowered though. It's my DD and I love how smooth the ride is, don't want to firm it up really. I got the V because of how smooth the ride is but has the power of the LS6, perfect combo for a DD imo.

Ick! on the chrome pillar covers. Rip them off and I recommend GooGone for the sticky residue. The splitter is BadAss, keep it and drrrrooop...

I agree with WhiteDevil....I would bet those are just stick on. The Silverado I bought had the chrome stick on door and tailgate handle covers...Goo Gone works but I had to end up using acetone to get some of it off.

Mine had the front bumper drilled for the plate as well, but I was afraid of paintwork, so I went with a set of www.BumperPlugs.com .

I would think Black would be easier to match though.

Nice looking car! Even better once you get those chrome door things removed.

No need to bring the car to a body shop for the plate holes, nor the expensive Bumper Plugs. Get a few plastic push plugs from a local auto part store. I used the kind that have the center pin inside an outer plug, so I could remove them if desired. They are black, fill the holes correctly, and are cheap.

Just an update for those of you interested in the splitter... I should get the V back from the body shop on Friday so I'll get some pictures of it off the car then. Its been there longer than expected due to high temps and humidity in the area. PM me with what you are are willing to pay if serious about it.

Shame the previous owner didn't get the V2-type (single-scoop - Powerdome) Specterwerks hood. Those are badass. Don't like the dual-scoop Specter hood tho.

Just got the car back from the shop. I'll clean it and the splitter up and post some pictures. I like it A LOT better without the splitter and chrome pillar pieces!
