Yea, sounds like a pretty cool swap. I'm not crazy about the added weight from the iron block though. The vvt is bad *** if u wanna throw a monster cam in it with phasers. It would have power everywhere. But again, the added weight up front is discouraging for me. But if its all about straight line, its ideal and affordable.

You need the later ECM for that swap which would require harness modifications (read:$$$$). The 04-05 has 24X electronics that are not compatible with some of the sensors, let alone the VVT stuff.

A brief rundown of what you need to do the swap into an 04-05 V (minus the VVT):

- Change reluctor and crank position sensor to LS1/6 (24X) parts or buy LPE's 58X to 24X converter.

- Change knock sensors to LS1/6 units. Must re-tap holes in block to M10-1.5.

- Buy knock sensor/cam position sensor conversion harness.

- Change valley cover to LS3/7 unit.

- Replace 8 lifters and 4 lifter retainers (the VVT stuff).

- Change cam to non-VVT unit (3-bolt)

- Change timing cover and driven sprocket to LS2 units.

- You may want to swap the oil pump due to the decreased volume needed via eliminating the VVT. Also there's no pressure relief valve in the V pan like there is in the VVT oil pans.

- I believe that the LY6 has USCAR-type injectors, so if that's the case, you would need to buy adapter connectors or undate your harness to the USCAR (EV6) injector plugs.

- Also, the LY6 comes with a truck intake manifold, which would have to be changed to as L76/LS3 or FAST manifold, any of which would require at least a 90mm DBW TB (and accompanying adapter harness).

Other, than that, it's pretty straight forward. Tune it and ride.

A far better option would be a used LS3, which would require fewer changes.

After a day of research, this is not by any means, a cost effective option lol

I keep coming back to nitrous.

slow98, what's your setup? TPS activation? Timing adjustment ect.

Im just runnign a wet 100 shot so I have the timing pulled through the tune, I just didnt feel liek spending the 250 bucks for a timing tuner for the 5hp loss.

I run a WOT switch and a window switch, as well as gear lockout so i dont spray in 1st gear. I run the HSW microedge and love it cause its all in one controller.

I picked up right at 100rwhp/150rwtq on 100 shot.

A Texas speed 402 is a great affordable option.

Nitrous is the most affordable. Because of itsslow's video of his car on the Dyno I will be doing that. With the 1st gear lockout. Cause first WOT NITROUS is pointless
