Default Picked up my new V. Mod questions inside!

I've lusted after one of these cars for years! Just recently found myself in a place where my Trans Am is not good for a family car, hence the V!

I found a "nice" 2005 Stealth Gray on ebay for an "ok" price. Put down a deposit and had it checked at a local Caddy dealer. Despite the salesman saying it was in excellent shape with 42k miles, the dealer said it needed Motor Mounts, Oil pan gasket, and a diff because it whined.

Maybe the dealer was fishing for business. I dont know. I decided not to get that car. And now I'm fighting to get my "fully refundable" $500 deposit back.

Anyway, I found a somewhat local V for sale. Its black. I hate black...until I saw this car. Its a 2005 and has a Magnaflow catback, UUC short shifter, UUC slotted rotors, Hawks pads, a W4M tune, and some other goodies. Its had the Diff, Nav, and a couple other things replaced.

Cant wait! I finally get a V after all these years!

Looks like a really nice find. However, the problems with the stealth grey you passed on plague all V's. They all need motor mounts if they haven't been replaced with aftermarkets, most diff's whine even after being replaced, and a oil pan gasket can be changed along with the motor mounts.

Right. But the good part about the one I'm buying is it has $3k in mods, $2500 in extra rims and tires, and all the normal V problems have been fixed under warranty

Very nice find bro.... I'm guessing the stealth gray V was in the 20K+ range and the black one is in the high teens range?

Congrats, other than the fact that the stealth gray cars are faster it sounds like a good buy. You'll love it.

So, I sometimes hear a driveline clunk when shifting at WOT. It looks like this is the front differential bushing? Whats te best replacement?

Also, need motor mounts soon. Whats the best out there?

When doing motor mounts, is it a good idea to do headers at the same time? If so, whats the best bang/buck for a bolt on CTS-V that may see a cam swap some day?

Creative Steel is the best option for the front diff bushing and motor mounts. They also have a block that goes above the front differential bushing to eliminate the clunk at WOT. The clunk is only reduced with just the bushing.

Best bang for buck headers are OBX which are typically found on ebay. They come with either catted connector pipes or resonated connector pipes.

I've read some on the obx headers being hit or miss in the quality department
