Default Starter wiring question

Does anybody know the wiring on the starter? I have a fried weatherproof connector on mine.... I have no idea what it does. When I touched it with my finger it slipped off the starter, and it's not very tight after re-connecting it. It comes off very easily.

I'm fighting a 'battery not charging' indicator on the NAV screen and was looking for loose ground connections when I came across this connector. Could this be the cause? Where does that wire go?

Thanks!
Mark

That connector is for the starter solenoid (starter engage) which is ignition activated and the 12v comes from the starter relay fuse in the engine bay panel. A new connector with pigtail can be had for $15 - $20 from rockauto.com. My connector was corroded and replaced last year. I just spliced and environmental spliced from pigtail and orig wire. 20 min job.
