Default Selling Price Market

This isn't a for sale ad, per se, but I am considering another vehicle and as you know, dealers don't give you squat for a trade on these...

So, would I be crazy high to ask $25k let's say for a 2007 CTS-V Thunder Gray with 63,600 miles? It's in good condition all around and all stock (has been) except for flowmaster mufflers. Tires are in decent shape and replaced the battery last week and new tags. Drives good, but one thing that is wrong with it is the sunroof doesn't work (the bracket broke) and has the typical worn off radio buttons and so on.

As for pictures, it's a 2007 Thunder Gray CTS-V and since it's not an actual ad, don't have any at the moment...

Anyway, I don't know what the market is on these right now and are people buying them in a decent timeframe (say in a few weeks)?

Thanks,

John R.

I'm at $25.5 for a 2007 with just under 60k miles...and 4k miles on new motor. Mine is marked for a quick sale.

If there wasn't a car on the lot that I wanted ASAP i'd list mine for $29.5k and wait till the right buyer came along. I lowered my price to be more competitive with the 2006 Vs and make it not that much more than the low mile 2005s.

I've had mine on the market for two weeks and have had many emails but very little responses. I'm guessing that it will take me a month to sell.

There are only a handfull of LS2 Vs for sale within 500 miles of me. My V is listed towards the very bottom. There are a few stock 2006 and 2007 Vs that are listed at $30k-$31k. It depends how long you want to wait.

I am researching to purchase in a few months (preparing to change jobs right now.) I can tell you that you are about the same as the other 07s, but there are not very many out there right now that I can find. There are a few 06s out there with ~50k miles for $23- 24k. I haven't been keeping track of which ones are out there every week.

Thanks, guys...I know what you mean about looking around for something and having a hard time finding what you're looking for (case in point on the one I'm looking at). I can probably get by with a trade as far as payoff, but if I sell on my own, probably could net 3k...so, I am contemplating if the 3k is worth the risk if I were to buy the new one and sell this one private party. The economy is so screwy right now and banks so tight...

I just don't know if I want to take the risk for a month and go thru the whole song and dance or just bite the bullet. Sometimes a trade can give you more wiggle room on the price since it's a new vehicle and dealers are short on used vehicles right now.

25k should sell fairly quick due to the color of the car mainly. I would ask about 27k personally but you never know peopel always try and jew you down.

I agree. I think that's a positive point for us selling 07 Vs now. It seems like the price of Vs has gone up slightly. In 2009-2010 there were a ton on the market due to owners dumping them for V2s. Many of them just wanted what the owed, which was pretty low.

Now that the market has settled the LS2 V1 is not as readily available. I'm sticking firm to $25.5k on mine. I think that's a hellova deal. You should be able to get $25k easily...even more if you are willing to wait for the right buyer.

I though about it the other day. Cammed,Ccw's,headers,gc kit,etc etc 07 V 39500 miles. and I told myself if I listed it I'd probably just list it for 25k since I only owe about 14k on the car and just take whatever I get out of it for a quick sale. But that's if I was looking for another car

I was thinking of selling my 07 46k light platinum/ebony/fg2/luxury CPO for 26-27k. I'm trying to find a V2 but a dealer will probably only give 22k or so for trade. I gotta try for better than 22k; especially with that awesome warranty.

To the OP, how much powertrain warranty is left on it? If it's a decent amount, 6 months or more, that sounds like a good price. I think if the warranty is done or almost done, it isn't much more attractive than an '06 (except the one-year color of yours).

That said, the price sounds fair. Not a steal with sorta high miles, but good.

Exactly, $22k is what the dealership offered me.

Thanks for the input, guys...

I've gotten trade in offers, although not 'firm' from 19k-21k, but not taking those. Oh well, they can keep their vehicles then, as I may just keep this one and forget about it. Just amazes me how much $$$ everything is now and even being in a crappy recession, there's really not many deals out there (on the good stuff) and when the automakers do get something right, good luck finding them.

Smart thing for me to do is just hang on to the car, keep paying on it and forget about the new BS.

I have my modded 04 @ 19.5 and not getting much interest. I really can't justify selling much cheaper, so worst case I am going to buy a maggie and be done with it =)

What's with everyone selling V's lately? I've been considering selling mine as I'm usually the only one riding it around and have been thinking of getting something that gets better MPG but still is nice. I just haven't thought of anything that comes close to it.

It's an 05 101k miles, HR springs, MM spacers, CAGS, Team Dynamics wheels, 2k miles on new 245/40/18, iPod integration, new rear diff by Pyle bros, new batt, and new fuel pump. I was going to guess 20k is that even reasonable?
