Default is the USA Spec PA15-VETTE best?

Is this the best kit to get? I'm looking to get something I can use in my 05 v with nav and xm ready for ipod and or aux. Is this the best one out there? Thanks

Only one that is still being made as far as I know of.

The NEO something or other is the only other one, looks identical to the usaspec model.

You won't be disappointed.

Neo prolink v2. Goes through your xm and has aux. 200$ on their site. Google neo audio and you will get the exact site. There aren't many for our cars

I have the USA-SPEC and I'm very happy with it. Works great, and good sound quality. One thing I like is that it's hard to dial up a certain artist or song through the radio controls, but you can pop it into direct mode which lets you select it on the iPhone itself, then flip back to control through the radio mode when done. I got mine for $$169 from Crutchfield, and since I had to go down that way anyway, I just picked it up in store and saved on shipping.

I've had this kit for about a year or so, and recently its started to have a constant static noise and distortion whenever on. Maybe just got a lemon, but they wont warranty it because i bought it from Amazon, but dont let my bad experience persuade you lol. Im just hoping i got a lemon, and for now i just turn up the volume to drone out the static

I've had mine for over a year with no issues. Easy to install, and works great for me.

I installed a USA Spec on my gf's SRX and she loves it. It sounds good, and she can use the steering wheel controls.

I however just spliced into the XM wires and used a 1/8" cord from Radio Shack. It sounds perfect, and I control everything from the ipod. Plus it was only $3. Can't beat that.

How do you do this? Is it a setting on the dip switches on the unit or what?

OK, so I'm not crazy then...I noticed when I don't have any music playing I get some noise/static behind it. Usually the music will go over it when it's turned up to normal volume levels. I thought I had an amp or XM issue, but I might be leaning more towards the adapter now.

I just followed the instructions for setting it up, including programming the presets for their names. On mine it's the 5th preset button down, you press it and the title/artist goes away on the nav screen, and the iPhone changes from "Accessory Connected" to the normal iPod selction screens. When I'm done, I just press the "All" button, 4th one down for me, and it returns to artits/title on screen and being able to control it through the radio.

For the record, I got mine from crutchfield and they warrantied it. Mine screwed up after about 20 minutes on its maiden voyage. It switched from crystal clear iPod, to 75% static, 25% distorted bleedover from the xm preview station. Anyhow the tech support guy was pretty helpful, and when he determined it was not a setup issue, they sent me a new one under the agreement that if the old was not returned I would be charged. Granted it really sucked that I had to do the install twice (you have to disassemble the entire rear interior), but the service was great.

OP, if you do go for it, get it from an authorized retailer. I've seen a few other people run into issues.

Ya, my usaspec also has static, only on the XM side though. Ipod is clear and sounds great.

I just did the XM Aux input mod this weekend. Was relatively easy to do, took me about 90mins with constant breaks to get out of the heat & use a wireless "cold heat" solder iron. I was shocked at how easy the radio comes out.

Looks like they are both same price pretty much. Everyone has static with the usa spec so probably go with the neo now
