Default anyone had there ac compressor go yet?

Just curious if anyone's took a crap yet? Or do these cars just don't feel like they get cold? Got a 05 and I noticed this don't blow cold that cold just a bit. I did a recharge yesterday and only took out .75 lbs and alldata says takes 1.3lbs but still not any diff.. I didn't notice any leaks visibly but might have to do a test and or recharge again and see how much it gets out

I have changed mine out cause i thought it was the problem, but it was just a bad wire on the connector going to the high pressure switch. changed out everything i could and the air still didn't work so i finally took it to the dealership. cost me 290 dollars for a damn 35 dollar part. made me sick, but at least i have a brand new compressor installed now.

Without sticking gauges on it's hard to tell... I'd check the condenser and fans to make sure it's free of debris and fans are working

On a really hot day, mine can take a few minutes with the car moving to get to peak operation, but man, when it does gets going, it's cold as ice. I usually have to bump it up a few degrees if I'm driving for a while.

Could also be a blend door issue... I'm not quite sure of the common problems in these cars...

Yea thats no joke, ive yet to have a cars a/c top the one in the V. Sucker will freeze you out thats for sure.

If you have a blacklight you can shine it around the lines and condenser and it should make any leaks glow faintly.

I'll be honest, the A/C in my 96 Escort beater car is WAY colder than the V, not sure why...I mean, the V gets cold....but the "Swagger Wagon"...as I like to call it...gets much, much colder

I love the a/c in my V...works perfect and the blower fan is very powerful as compared to my older aurora that blows like crap (but still ice cold).

To answer the original question, there have been very few if any known issues on the V1 with AC.

Mine was done for at 21k miles. Luckily I had to get my harmonic balancer replaced and that meant recharging my AC for free

Tracked it down. On the pass side of the compressor is 2 lines and leaking on those. So guessing that there is o-rings probably bad. Just looks like a pita to do
