Default V-Power hood 09+ is ready to go!

So, I swung by the shop really quick this morning to test fit the hood. He's ready to prime and shoot at this point since it fit perfectly. He was extremely impressed with the direct bolt on and the seams as you can see from overhead pics below. It's not all the way closed in the front as he didn't want to latch the hood down without the front bumper off to make sure all was good. (Apparently, he had some issues with an aftermarket hood one time when they closed it and he had a lot of trouble getting it open again lol.) So, here are the pics bolted up and sitting down to the point the lever was over the hoop for the catch part. I'll be about a week behind my anticipated schedule when it's all said and done but hopefully it will be painted and on by next Wed. Some of the pics make the hood look dirty lol because of the iPhone HDR feature but I tried to use the best pic of HDR vs non to capture the lines of it and since it's white(ish) some of the pics washed it out when the flash hit so I had to use the HDR ones.

Enjoy

I'd like to see it painted, but can imagine it'll look pretty cool!

Looks like there may be enough room at the cowl to install a fuel pressure and/or boost gauge(s) there (hidden except to driver), although visibility may not allow (hard to tell with the pics); if you want electrical gauges vs. mechanical, sure an LED readout would open up even more possibilties instead of trying to read a small needle as you're going...that would be nice.

Can't wait to get mine. The 2.9 Whipple is only about 2 weeks out now as well. First units have shipped for field testing/prototype completion.

They do but vents are over fenders and I don't drive much in the rain, so I cut mine directly open.

Not a fan of the vents, but I can understand the purpose.

Here it is!! Took longer because the PPG paint shop mixed the wrong base coat and he had to redo it cuz it was too dark.

Looks cool from inside

More pics tomorrow when the sun is up!

Looks good? Are you doing the vents in black?

Looks like a caricature of the stock hood.

Here are some more shots up at Devou Park Golf Course behind my house

See that nice big cowl induction vent under the bulge? Car running, you can feel the heat pushing out of it. I still need to put my ww nozzles in, couldn't wait any longer... wanted it for the wknd

Close up on vents, color matched to show subtly, going flat black to match grills soon.

Looks good. I wonder how it would look on a coupe. I would think it would balance out some of the rear bulk nicely.
