Default LC855 - New Wheels Checklist?

Hey,

I'm picking up a set of Linea Corse LC855 wheels (19x8.5 front, 19x10 rear). I assume that I'll need to get a set of TPMS, and I'm aware that I may need to get a new set of trailing arms, but I'd like to hear any nuggets of advice that members of the forum picked up from experience. Any tire recommendations? Unless someone says otherwise, I'll probably pick up a set of g-Force T/A KDW 2s or Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110s.

Thanks for anything you've got.

I have the first set of 855's for the CTS-V that were sold/installed, in fact it's my car that is pictured on the wheeldude website with Linea Corse LC855's. I have the Hankook Ventus V12 in 245/40ZR19 and 275/35ZR19. I had severe rubbing on the right rear trailing arm forcing me to install the MAP trailing arms. My car is a little lower than stock which required me to roll the fender lips both front and rear.I removed the TPMS from my stock wheels and installed them in the 855's with no problems. The only thing I would do different is maybe go to a 285/35ZR19 rear as the 275 leaves a little gap at the bead.

I got everything from wheeldude, including the TPMS, locking lugs, wheels and tires (nitto v12s). I am at stock height and I had no rubbing problems at all.

Thanks for the feedback, both of you!

Cadzila, why are you running 40% profile tires in the front and 35% in the back? After numerous searches, I was already planning on going with 285s in the back. Looks like you've got some serious camber on the back wheels there--don't you think that's the source of the rubbing problem? Beautiful car, though. With the new trailing arms, do you think you could do 305s?

I've already rolled my fenders--I had to after installing the Ground Control kit and lowering the car. This is mine (doesn't show the tinted windows):

Glad you can migrate the TPMS. Did you have to recalibrate them? I'll probably wind up lowering the car a little more as well. This spring, I'm having the front fascia completely repainted and the license plate holder professionally removed and the holes patched up.

One more question: what paint did you guys use on your brake calipers? I'd heard horror stories about certain types of paint peeling. Do you think I should stick with silver, given my red car, or something else?

They appear to literally be in Fuzzy's avatar pic if I'm spotting those LC's correctly.

I called WheelDude asking about getting a set of these a few weeks back and was told they were discontinued. Maybe this is bad info, but it is what I was told.

If anyone else is interested in a set, you may want to check before getting you mind set on these.

They are. I have emailed the owner. I was one of the original 5-6 that ordered these. I just want a replacement wheel.

Wow, what a blast from the past. After rand49er (and two other people, IIRC) identified that their LC855s were cracking, I went looking around for something that looked like a Breyton GTS-R.

Eventually, I ran into Peter at Forgestar, and the rest is history.

By the way, the new website and forum are coming along steadily. Philistine and I are working in our spare time to build a great home where we can all showcase our projects and develop advancements for the V1, V2, and V3 in a place that encourages collaboration, allows DIY projects to flourish, and pays bounties for wanted developments. It also covers the ATS-V and the STS-V, so if you know anyone with one of those cars (or will be buying one), let me know.

not in stock and discontinued. When we bought we had to have either 5 or 6 sets prepaid to make the order.
