Anyone successfully "repair" their CD changer?
So in an attempt to improve my listening options I added an aux input to my 2005 V. The problem is that upon re-installation I discovered that my CD changer no longer works. It is hung, froze, or otherwise stuck on CD #2. When I try to eject the CD the car beeps three times. When I tried to play the CD I get a message about there not being an audio CD in the deck. It will not change to another disc either.
Reading on the forum last night I did two things: the "right seek + second from the bottom button" trick and disconnecting the battery for 20 min. Neither has fixed the issue.
I have managed to retrieve all of my discs by disassembling the NAV unit and getting to the changer, then taking it apart. This is not for the faint of heart. It did go all back together OK and seems to act in the same manner as before, which upon re-powering you can here the mechanism moving back and forth then nothing. My next attempt will be to manually try and move everything back to what I believe is the "home" position in the changer, but I have little faith in that working.
I have two theories on what happened: 1. The unit was on its way out and the jostling of removal sealed its fate. 2. (my personal suspicion) Is that when I disconnected the cable to get at the XM wires the CD changer lost it's sense of home and as a result does nothing. My advice for anyone removing the NAV unit to remove all CDs and DVDs just to be safe... it can't hurt.
Any ideas? Anyone have a junk NAV unit that the changer works they want to let go cheap?

Don't think the "right seek and second button from the bottom" does anything for the CD changer, however it will allow you to watch DVD's while driving down the road. You have to start playing the DVD while stopped with the E-brake engaged, press the button combo, then release the E-brake and drive on.
GM CD changers are finicky and fragile. Haven't used the one on my truck for almost two years and just found it broken also. A good audio shop should be able to fix it for cheap though.

Mine has done this twice. I turn off the CD player, either just put it on radio or xm (PA15-VETTE) or just walk away a while. It just comes back. Doing nothing almost helped more than doing something. It seemed to get triggered by ejecting a cd. It's like it doesn't get the signal after you pull the ejected disc out and just froze. I think the first time I just listened to the iPod for a while and the last time I just shut the car off and walked away and it worked out the next time I turned it on.
